+ Collects initial clinical information from potential patients and outside referral sources in order to facilitate new referrals
+ Coordinates administrative and data collection efforts in the Central Access Center Hub

+ Monitors managed care authorization and tracks follow-up visits

+ Follows up with patients and referral sources in result of "no show" and ensure outreach of MCT if applicable
+ Assists external inpatient units with discharging of new patients and ensuring appropriate level of care is met '
+ Supervises 1 Data Coordinators/ Social Work Assistant and reviews performance on a regular basis in regards to proper intake procedure, working knowledge of insurance coverage for the hospital, managed care authorizations; and all duties assigned
+ Conducts a minimum of monthly administrative meetings with Data Coordinator/Social Work Assistant staff to identify problems; assist in problem resolution, and facilitate communication
+ Attends System staff meetings
+ Maintains appropriate patient care documentation as defined by hospital policies and procedures
+ Sets appropriate priorities and responds to follow-up situations in acceptable time period
+ Demonstrates ability to make decisions and manages resources
+ Demonstrates sensitivity to patient/family cultural background and spiritual needs
+ Responsible for data entry and maintenance of patient database, excel spreadsheets, Word documents as requested by the supervisor
+ Facilitates the intake process; communicate with registrars regarding insurance information
+ Runs reports and statistical analyses as needed.
+ Coordinates intake dates and times with clinicians
+ Effectively represents the department' s philosophy and policy to other departments and community agents

Summary:
This position specializes in evaluating children and families in crisis and helping them adjust to acute and/or ongoing medical and/or psychiatric stressors. The position can provide support for inpatient and outpatient medical and psychiatric services or can provide psychiatric assessment to patients in the emergency room. This position also provides education and practical coping strategies for patients and families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation and treatment services to patients and families with complex psychosocial needs; provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.

- Maintain fiscal accountability and apply problem solving skills that demonstrate responsibility for generating allocated billable and/or patient contact hours.

WORK EXPERIENCE

The Clinical Trials Manager for Psychiatry works closely with the Vice Chair for Clinical Research to support the coordination and execution of investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials within the Department of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The Clinical Trials Manager will work to ensure the operational success and regulatory compliance of a growing portfolio of research studies focused on mental health, including mood disorders, psychosis, anxiety, PTSD, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
