Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Academic Program Director for the department of Population & Public Health Sciences (PPHS) at Wright State University plays a vital role in the administration and growth of the department's undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs. This position serves as the primary liaison for students across all academic levels, ensuring coordinated academic advising, experiential learning, and student support services. The coordinator collaborates with faculty and staff on curricular development, recruitment initiatives, and academic operations that enhance student success and program visibility.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience should be in student or academic function, program coordination, or a comparable field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and synthesize complex information in environments with multiple stakeholders, variables, and outcomes.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, particularly under time constraints or competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to advise, coach, and support students as well as collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and external partners.

  • Monitor academic progress and coordinate graduation planning and tracking.
  • Support students in navigating elective, transfer, prior learning assessment (PLA), and certificate credit approvals.
  • Proactively engage in recruitment activities by conducting outreach, following up with inquiries, participating in university-wide recruitment events, and building relationships with prospective students.
  • Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to implement effective recruitment strategies tailored to each program.
Practice Placement & Experiential Learning (25%)
