**Position Purpose:**
Provides day-to-day monitoring and basic plant and pump/booster station operations, lab tests and corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance activities. Is fully qualified to perform the most complex functions and may lead the work of others.
**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Operates equipment manually and through instrumentation panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units following process control procedures. Monitors and observes operating conditions, records observations and data in shift log. Diagnoses basic operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure.
+ Inspects and performs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting to determine repairs needed. Estimates time and material costs for assigned projects. Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices. May fabricate devices and assemblies from steel. May weld, thread pipe and solder using gas and electric equipment. Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating condition is restored.
+ Inspect flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls on instrument panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units and diagnoses basic operational problems. Takes corrective action per procedure in assigned area. Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor.
+ Collects water, wastewater, industrial waste, groundwater, sludge, residuals and/or gas samples according to schedule. Performs field tests (chemical, physical and biological) in order to pace chemical dosages for process and odor control units. Prepares chemical solutions, monitors supplies and recommends reorder.
+ Performs limited in-house lab samples which would include pH, fluoride, and chlorine residuals as needed.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on field and lab equipment as needed.
+ Changes and cleans probes, floats and sensors on instrumentation.
+ Performs instrument calibration, including resetting of set points as assigned. Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment needing warranty or outside work to supervisor.
+ Performs facility maintenance and repair and may replace or install light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tiles, door locks, carpet, and/or paint. Performs manual labor including cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds as required and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies. Operates vehicles, mobile equipment and material handling equipment for operational and maintenance purposes.
+ May assist with maintaining parts, spares and maintenance inventory.
+ May assist in other areas of plant as directed.
+ May assist with orienting or training new or less experienced Maintenance personnel.
**Work Environment:**
+ Spends 100% of the time in operations environment.
+ Typically spends 25 - 35% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather.
+ Company service vehicles are used as required.
+ Travels 1 - 2 times per year for company provided training.
+ Possible Work Hazards : May be exposed to possible operations hazards including fumes, dust, toxic and caustic chemicals, noise, rotating machinery, high pressure and hot and cold temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.
**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience/Background:**
+ High school or GED with the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions) and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
+ Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
+ Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.)
+ Must consistently demonstrate the ability to perform all assigned tasks in an organized, accurate and timely manner.
+ Must demonstrate ability to efficiently maintain, install and repair any equipment or instrumentation used in the facility.
+ Must have the ability to diagnose and respond to problems regardless of complexity, troubleshoot mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment and instrumentation and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
+ Must demonstrate proficiency with precision measuring devices and testing equipment and have the ability to perform all assigned lab tests regardless of complexity.
+ Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to comprehend complex specifications, blueprints and manuals.
+ Must demonstrate proficiency with computer programs for process control, Computer Maintenance Management System and laboratory / industrial pretreatment QA/QC.
+ Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
+ Must be able to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by site. On-call rotation is $150 per week that they are required to be on call.
**Required Certification/Licenses/Training:**
+ Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
+ Employee Orientation, Departmental Operating Procedures, Safety, OSHA and Quality Training.
+ Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude required, with the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment.
+ May perform more advanced functions as part of training and development.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Amount of time spent - Standing 25%, Walking 75% for as many as five miles per shift.
+ Requires close visual and hearing observation to detect non-conformance and machine malfunction.
+ Constantly uses hands to finger, handle or feel and frequently reaches with hands and arms.
+ Works in various positions; works on ladders, catwalks, and supports at heights of 50 feet above the ground; and works with hands extended above and below head and body up to 40 minutes using hand tools weighing up to 15 pounds.

+ Occasional stooping, bending or kneeling and entering confined spaces.

**Pay Range:** $6.00 to 34.00 per hour.

Job Description
Inframark is hiring Public Works Technicians to join our team. You will be performing manual labor and operating departmental equipment. We would ask you to perform grounds maintenance duties, including mowing right of way and maintaining municipal property.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment such as backhoes, jackhammers, chain saws, lawn mowers, chippers, leaf machines, weed eaters, concrete saws, paint strippers, or tractors with bush hogs in compliance with OSHA and ESG safety regulations.
- Mow and trim assigned property; remove brush, tree limbs, and leaves with chipper and leaf machines; clean alleys and rights-of-way; trim hedges and sidewalks.
- Plant and fertilize trees, shrubs and flowers as directed spray for weeds in flower beds and on lawns.
- Perform cleaning tasks in assigned area, such as sweeping, mopping, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning grit screens or grates, picking up trash/debris, or hauling refuse and recycling material to landfill.
- Repair sidewalks and other concrete areas; resurface and repair roadways; maintain roadway curbs, crosswalks, and stop bars; finish concrete; clear roadways of debris.
- Performs minor building repairs, including minor electrical and plumbing repairs and/or painting tasks; assist with maintenance of departmental equipment; fuel trucks.
- Assist in sodding and landscaping property; assist with storm clean up; repair fences; remove animal carcasses from roadways.
- Clean and repair drainage structures; lay pipelines; expose existing utility lines to aid heavy equipment operator and keep operator away from obstacles
- Assist with the installation, cleaning and maintenance of roadway traffic and informational signs
- Assist with the preparation of public events, festivals, parades and ceremonies, including installation of decorations, assembling stages and structures, and maintaining garbage disposal bins during an event.
- Direct and control traffic at work sites.
- Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies.
- Work harmoniously with ESG employees and the public and comply with all ESG policies.
Qualifications
Prefer six months of landscape experience, high school diploma or GED, or specialized vocational training. Must have a valid state driver's license and meet minimum driving standards.
Knowledge of:
- Basic math to include addition and subtraction.
Skills in:
- Handling or using machines, tools, equipment or relevant work aids. Job involves some latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate equipment.
Ability to:
- Read simple sentences or instructions; write simple sentences; speak simple sentences using basic grammar.
- Perform semi-routine work following procedures with occasional problem-solving required; requires normal attention for accurate results.
Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors. All required safety standards shall be adhered to mitigate risk from moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, heights, blood-borne pathogens, traffic, animals and wildlife, toxic or caustic chemicals, and other identified hazards.
Physical requirements
This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.
The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
