The Cleveland Clinic Respiratory Institute announces its search for an individual to lead the Women's Lung Health Center, in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine. The Director of the Women's Lung Health Center will establish and grow a multidisciplinary initiative to provide gender-specific expertise for women with a range of pulmonary conditions, in collaboration with the Center for Specialized Women's Health, Department of Maternal-Fetal medicine, and several other clinical institutes. Research focused on sex and respiratory disease, as well as education of trainees, will be integral to the mission of the Center. The Director will have the opportunity to work closely with investigators in the Lerner Research Institute (LRI), where active research is already underway in gender differences in asthma biology, pulmonary vascular disease, heart disease and other areas.
We are looking for a talented individual with a track record of performing original research and aptitude for delivering programmatic growth and innovating care delivery. The Department is particularly interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The RRT will assist with management of the Cardiac Rehabilitation caseload as appropriate. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, physical assessment including inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation. Identifies dysrhythmias accurately and correlates appropriate interventions. Interprets twelve-lead electrocardiograms and telemetry monitoring equipment with emphasis on identification of significant ischemic changes. Correlates appropriate interventions based on interpretations. Performs emergency cardiac care measures including defibrillation, initiation and maintenance of intravenous fluids, administration of emergency medications and initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and/or advanced cardiac life support measures. Operates telemetry monitoring equipment. Performs psychomotor exercises at activity levels consistent with phases of cardiac rehabilitation protocol. Operates audiovisual equipment for participant education. Promotes behavioral changes consistent with medication compliance, smoking withdrawal, dietary modifications, and appropriate exercise habits. Maintains appropriate records and performs QI activities as may be required. Participates in policy development, review and revision. Coordinates and administers cardiac rehab education classes for patient and family.
Schedule: 2 days/week Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 am
Requirements:
- Graduate of a Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (COARC) approved program of respiratory care and licensed by the state of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. AAS degree required, but Bachelors of Science degree preferred.
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
- Maintain a current CPR card or must obtain a current CPR card within orientation period.
- Clinical experience in all aspects of respiratory care, extensive critical care background preferred.
- Maintain a current ACLS card. May take this class at first available opportunity if has no current card.
- May be required to work any day of the week including holidays and weekends.

+ Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
**Requirements:**
+ Graduate from an AMA approved Respiratory Care program
+ 2 years' experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
+ Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure in applicable state (IL)
+ American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS for Health Care Providers
+ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
+ NPS required
+ Initial STABLE Certification
+ Additional certifications may be required.
