**_REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION_**

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for Leica Biosystems is responsible for leading a team to handle the company's end to end sourcing operations to meet Global Sourcing savings targets while supporting the overall strategy of the Global Strategic Sourcing organization.

**Strategic Sourcing Agent**
**Description**
JOB SUMMARY:
A Strategic Sourcing professional is well-versed in strategic supply chain principles and contributes to the development of supply chain strategies that align with company and department goals. Through reading, understanding, and interpreting supplier contracts, a Strategic Sourcing professional can negotiate and manage long-term pricing agreements. This position will also analyze financial aspects of contracts, make cost comparisons, and use pricing formulas. Keeps contracts up-to-date and follow all laws, company rules, and good business practices.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Knowledgeable in strategic supply chain principles and provides input into supply chain strategies supporting company/department objectives.
* Maintains and supports timely control of amendments, SOW changes, extensions, and other required documentation to assure orderly administration and retention of records.
* Complies with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures, import/export regulations, and employs sound business practice.
* Possesses financial analytical skills necessary to review contractual agreements, perform cost comparisons, utilize pre-existing pricing formulas.
* Demonstrates negotiation skills necessary to secure price, delivery schedule, terms & conditions for Pricing Agreements (PAs), Master Purchasing Agreements (MPAs), and/or other related contract agreements
* Negotiate/Administer Long Term Agreements and Pricing Agreements as required, identifying cost savings initiatives as planned and forecasted.
* Read and interpret supplier agreements/contracts.
**Qualifications**
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or related field.
* Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required
* In lieu of degree, minimum 6 years' experience in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or other related field.
QUALIFICATONS:

**Job Summary:**
With the expanding use of technology in our products, this role is focused on adding technical expertise in purchasing to more effectively and efficiently support product development, daily production requirements, and inventory management. This position is responsible for the timely and cost-effective acquisition of assigned goods and/or services, in accordance with company policies, and best practices. This role will manage the electrical commodity (wire harnesses, gauges, stereos, etc) from concept through end of life. Interfacing with engineering on development, evolution, and sunsetting product will be a key responsibility of his position. On a day-to-day basis, this role will be placing PO's, quoting new materials, and working on new product development projects.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Obtain bids, negotiate contracts and select appropriate vendors for supplies and services
+ Present sourcing recommendations as required
+ Implement and coordinate cost reduction strategies for all purchases
+ Obtain quotes from suppliers for changes to existing products or for new products
+ Work in conjunction with cross functional teams (i.e. Engineering, Materials, Quality, Finance, etc.)
+ Manage a wide range of vendors across multiple product lines
+ Issue purchase orders, and track and expedite as necessary to ensure timely delivery
+ Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a fast-paced environment
+ Maintain a detail-oriented workspace and possess multi-tasking abilities
**Requirements**
? Bachelor's degree desired; certification in inventory management or purchasing a plus
? Three to five years procurement experience
? Experience and familiarity with inventory control, receiving, and shipping processes
? Experience in developing and managing suppliers

**What is the job about?**
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, onboarding and developing new external suppliers to become key partners to Peerless. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will also be a key participant in the continued development of the existing supply base.
This position reports directly to our Senior Quality and Sourcing Manager and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility in a hybrid function.
**Your main responsibilities:**
+ Identify potential new suppliers with manufacturing capabilities and business models that match Peerless business needs - specific to casting and fabrication commodities.
+ Conduct supplier visits, establishing initial vendor relations and evaluating potential future business relations.
+ Working with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
+ Prepare RFQ package and manage the process.
+ Conduct detailed supplier audits to gauge full capability, performance and business fit, and make recommendations for the next steps.
+ Manage parts sampling and approval process for select suppliers.
+ Lead full boarding of selected new suppliers.
+ Conduct new supplier performance evaluation.
+ Participate in performance management of existing supply base.
+ Implementing inventory optimization strategies within the company.
+ Guide supplier improvement initiative if deemed necessary.
+ Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns, utilizing Total Cost of Ownership concept (TOCO).
+ Key member of Peerless cross-functional sourcing team for castings & Fabrications.
**We imagine that you have:**
+ Proven track record from previous strategic sourcing activities, growing and improving external supply base.
+ Detailed knowledge of casting and fabrication commodities and their manufacturing processes.
+ Some previous experience with sand casting, investment casting, and other casting technologies (i.e. lost foam, vacuum cast, etc.).
+ Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and machining processes.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards.
+ Experience using various supplier evaluation and auditing tools.
+ Project management skills.
+ Continuous Improvement experience.
+ Experience in Contract Management.
+ Knowledge of Supply Chain planning and MRP.
+ Experience from a Make to Order manufacturing environment.
+ Proficient using Microsoft Office Products.
+ SAP experience a plus.
+ Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering or another relevant field or equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years' experience in purchasing or sourcing activities; quality or engineering background.
