Requirements: Radiation Therapy program graduate and R.T.(T) or registry eligible.
Summary: Under the supervision of the Chief Therapist, the staff radiation therapist uses ionizing and non-ionizing radiation for cancer treatments in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist
Responsibilities:
- Accurately delivers a course of radiation under the Radiation Oncologist's guidance.
- Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, daily treatment time and delivers prescribed dose.
- Take port films on all initial patient setups. Weekly check films every five treatment days. Corrects any changes prior to next treatment.
- Assists radiation oncologist in tumor localization procedures: i.e. preparation of blocks, contours, etc.
- Calculates treatment time and monitor units for fields not requiring a computer treatment plan.
- Performs daily warm-ups on equipment & detects and reports equipment malfunction.
- Prepares room and equipment for patients according to prescription.
- Secures labs and x-rays reports and notifies physician of pertinent values.
- Other duties as assigned.

Summary: The Nurse's scope of services is based upon the population served within the ECG department. The nurse monitors patients during exercise sessions and is responsible for focusing upon preventive and restorative cardiac health. Provides patient and caregiver education pertaining to risk factors and behavior modification. Maintains communication with the Cardiac Medical Director as to the patients' current level of functioning and any changes in symptomatology. Responds quickly to emergency situations within the department.

1.Monitors EKG for: inappropriate rhythm changes; resting, exercise and recovery heart rates and blood pressures; discomfort or changes in discomfort in the chest, neck, shoulder or arm; dizziness, fainting or claudication and any shortness of breath with oxygen desaturation.
2.Participates in department quality improvement data collection and reporting.
3.Complies with the assessment process by the identification and gathering of data concerning the health status of the patient.
4.Plans for patient care by determining patient problems based on patient assessment data.
5.Develops, implements and adjusts as necessary the patient's Individual Treatment Plan.
6.Maintains all medical emergency equipment according to department/HQ system policies and procedures.
7.Responds to all medical emergencies within the department according to department/HQ system policies and procedures.

- Compare patient feedback survey results to Vituity state/region averages and national benchmarks.
- Respond to written and verbal patient complaints in a timely manner utilizing service-recovery techniques.

- Establish and actively manage an inventory of resources available for patients to assist in transition post-ED/post-inpatient. Ensure best practices are utilized regarding handoffs for all transitions.
- Monitor site financial performance and identify and create new areas for growth and revenue.
- Develop an expertise and understanding of the yearly budget, financial performance measures and monitoring systems, and billing and reimbursement issues / systems.
- Improve patient census and billing practice statistics to optimize reimbursement for the practice.
- Maintain awareness and interactions with payers such as significant IPAs, Medical Groups, Foundations, and ACOs associated with the hospital / health system.
- Coordinate efforts with key leaders in central operations.
Required Experiences and Competencies
- Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency through an accredited residency program required.
- Maintain membership and privileges on Hospital's medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of Hospital's medical staff where services are being provided required.
- Physician Partnership status required.
- Superior clinical skills to serve as role model by setting high standards preferred.
- Administrative experience and aptitude preferred.
- Interest in interpreting complex financial data and with understanding of finance and accounting as they relate to practice management preferred.

- 650-bed facility with 43-bed Emergency Department

- Annual ED volume of 33,000 with approximately 100 patients per day.
