What You Will Do
The QA Technician will support various functions and activities to include covering internal ISO audits as well as other external bodies such as NIOSH. In addition, you will:
• Plan and conduct internal ISO9001 Quality Audits according to schedule; work closely with all departments inclusive of ISO9001
• Use audit guidelines, checklists and prior audit results to determine audit paths
• Gather and document objective evidence during audit interview process; determine whether quality activities comply with specifications, procedures, and standards
• Record and document audit results in the company’s online audit system and review the results of the audit with the Department Manager of the area being audited.
• Complete corrective action determinations including associated risk assessments
• Draft corrective actions and action items in a clear and compelling way for use by others
• Conduct verifications of corrective actions and action items including verification using objective evidence
• Guide, support and answer third party quality audits and surveys including all required correspondence
• Perform work center, finished product and process audits, as required
• Review, understand, and follow the departmental procedures, Work Instructions Specifications and Plant Rules and Regulations that are associated with the performance of this job
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
• Promote an atmosphere of continuous process and employee improvement.
Education & Experience Requirements
• Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; OR high school diploma/GED with 7+ years experience in a relevant work environment.
• Technician IV: Vocational training and 8+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; OR high school diploma/GED with 10+ years’ experience in a relevant work environment.
• Additional training and or knowledge in the quality auditor field and procedures is desirable
• Computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system.
• Experience in developing and maintaining records and to follow projects through to conclusion
• Ability to obtain ISO 9001 Auditor Certification
• Ability to review and evaluate specifications, procedures, and processes
• Ability to communicate effectively and cross-functionally in production, support and corporate areas on a regular basis.
• Self-motivated and exhibit the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must understand the Quality Policy and how it relates to this job
• Must understand the relevance and importance of the quality activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives.

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for the continuous improvement of quality performance at the plant level. This role supports operational areas by applying both internal and customer-specific requirements to enhance quality outcomes.
Responsibilities

+ Manage claims with customers and suppliers using internal and customer-specific standards, including customer portals.
+ Control and evaluate measuring equipment, including calibration and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
+ Implement customer-specific requirements within quality documentation, create, and update control plans and check inspections.
+ Collaborate on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), develop, define, and control critical/significant characteristics, and define statistical methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability indices (cpk).
+ Apply specific knowledge of customer-specific requirements according to the CSR Matrix, related to the function, customer, or project.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing.
+ Proficiency in quality assurance, inspection, batch record management, and audit.
+ Experience in the automotive industry.
+ Ready-to-use knowledge in process management, even beyond the immediate area of responsibility.
+ Good communication skills.
+ Basic user skills in SAP and advanced skills in MS Office.
+ Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as IATF.
+ Knowledge in certification and systems.
