Zircoa is looking for a Quality Inspector to perform the following duties including but not limited to: Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates. * Loads and unloads tunnel kiln cars and provides consistent maintenance of the klin cars. * Must be able to determine whether any and all ware is good or reject by using plug gauges, calipers, rulers, taper gauges, feeler gauges, Hole-a-matic, micrometers, scales, go-no-go gauges, flat plates, C gauges, wall thickness gauge, bow gauges, computers, pin gauges, bottom thickness gauges, hole template and snap gauges. Need to be able to find computer generated prints. Must be able to understand and interpret inspection documents. * If ware is reject, must know how to disposition it. Reject ware can be reclaimed and crushed with hammer, disposed of into trash hopper, or set aside for further review. * Prepares acceptable ware for shipment - including scrubbing vacuuming, labeling, wrapping, bagging and boxing. * Must know how to properly pack and label all acceptable ware, over 2,500 different pieces including over 40 different boxes, dividers, pads and inserts. Must also use foam, banding machine, shrink wrapper, bubble wrap, vacuum trays, noodles, ties, bags, foam inserts, desiccant, shrink wrap, end caps, labels, stamps, staplers and stitcher. Help to develop new packaging methods to meet customer's needs. * Re-inspection, re-packing of ware when internal or external CARS are involved, and combining of partials boxes. * Responsible for maintaining foamed, stitcher and changing propane tanks and batteries on tow motors used in the Inspection Department. * Need to use tow motors, pneumatic barrel mover and strong-arm to move ware. * Manually move up to 17,000 pounds in one shift. * Input all transactions into appropriate system, understand QC samples and be able to audit. * Responsible for ordering cardboard and necessary supplies, collect and calibrate all gauges as necessary or according to schedule. * Need to use computers, printers, and general office equipment. * Fill in or assist shippers as necessary. * Dye check fine grain parts. * Use Bridgeport to smooth brinks. * Transfers ware from Packing Area to Shipping and insures ware has met all quality, labeling, and packaging requirements prior to transfer and once received in Shipping. What You Will Do

• Initiate corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and verify the effectiveness of those actions. Drive CAPA’s to effective closure in a timely manner.
li>Address customer warranty issues and effectively complete customer specific corrective action requests.
• Create and sustain standard printouts for TVM Boards. Provide additional support as the QA Representative.
• Provide support for new products, new equipment installs or process improvements:
• Provide permission note support to R&D and provide data as required for the development of new products.

< i>Serve as the subject matter expert in analytical and testing equipment to maximize the effectiveness of existing equipment while investigating and pursuing advances in technology for continuous improvement.
• Reduce process variation using CI, Six Sigma, and other tools to improve the quality of products and reduce scrap.
• Manage the Quality Near Miss system. Evaluate the submitted Quality Near Misses and evaluate if additional action is needed for continuous improvement.
• Development and implementation of in-line monitoring systems/solutions for quality check-points.
• Utilize MES data to develop process control charts, process capability studies, etc. for new/existing processes. Develop new & update existing work instructions, specifications & procedures.
• Monitor the process audit program. Analyze outcome to determine if a CAPA or CI project is required.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

Education & Experience Requirements

< i>Bachelors of Science in Engineering required.
• Qualified candidates will have 1 - 5+ years’ experience minimum depending on level.
< i>Experience in manufacturing required with a solid technical background.  li>Must demonstrate good judgment when evaluating quality related situations.
• Must work well with those in inspection, R&D, production, and supervision.
• Knowledge of Consumable Division products, processes, specifications and procedures is preferred.
• Willing to undergo the necessary training to obtain QA Engineer certification.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites as necessary to solve quality related issues.
• Completion of Six Sigma training and a Red Belt or Black Belt project or willing to undergo the necessary training. Six Sigma preferred
• Must possess excellent communication skills particularly in technical areas.
• Proficient in Apriso and SAP.

What You Will Do

The QA Technician will support various functions and activities to include covering internal ISO audits as well as other external bodies such as NIOSH. In addition, you will: 

•    Plan and conduct internal ISO9001 Quality Audits according to schedule; work closely with all departments inclusive of ISO9001
•    Use audit guidelines, checklists and prior audit results to determine audit paths
•    Gather and document objective evidence during audit interview process; determine whether quality activities comply with specifications, procedures, and standards
•    Record and document audit results in the company’s online audit system and review the results of the audit with the Department Manager of the area being audited.   
•    Complete corrective action determinations including associated risk assessments
•    Draft corrective actions and action items in a clear and compelling way for use by others
•    Conduct verifications of corrective actions and action items including verification using objective evidence 
•    Guide, support and answer third party quality audits and surveys including all required correspondence     
•    Perform work center, finished product and process audits, as required
•    Review, understand, and follow the departmental procedures, Work Instructions Specifications and Plant Rules and Regulations that are associated with the performance of this job
•    Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
•    Promote an atmosphere of continuous process and employee improvement.
 

Education & Experience Requirements

•    Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; OR  high school diploma/GED with 7+ years experience in a relevant work environment. 

•     Technician IV: Vocational training and 8+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; OR  high school diploma/GED with 10+ years’ experience in a relevant work environment. 

•    Additional training and or knowledge in the quality auditor field and procedures is desirable

•    Computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system.
•    Experience in developing and maintaining records and to follow projects through to conclusion
•    Ability to obtain ISO 9001 Auditor Certification
•    Ability to review and evaluate specifications, procedures, and processes
•    Ability to communicate effectively and cross-functionally in production, support and corporate areas on a regular basis. 
•    Self-motivated and exhibit the ability to work with minimal supervision
•    Must understand the Quality Policy and how it relates to this job
•    Must understand the relevance and importance of the quality activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives.
