The Textile Quality Specialist is responsible for executing quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities on textile products received from the manufacturer. This role ensures that all products meet established quality standards before distribution to hospitality clients. The position also supports investigations into manufacturing failures and non-compliance issues. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of textile performance, laundry processes, and quality systems, and will be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibility:
- Conduct inspections and statistical audits of incoming textile shipments to verify compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
- Perform physical testing of textiles, including test washing, dimensional checks, colorfastness, and durability assessments.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records and reports.

Education:

Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in textiles or manufacturing.
- Experience in the hospitatlity textile industry preferred
Skills:
- Familiarity with textile testing methods and standards (e.g., AATCC, ASTM).
- Experience with laundry processes and evaluating textile performance post-wash.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry/reporting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, root case analysis, or other quality improvement methodologies preferred

This position requires reliability and the ability to lift and carry 50lbs over uneven ground for a distance of 300ft.

You will be responsible for performing quality control tests on materials (sand/rock) for specific product lines using ASTM and AASHTO standards.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Carries out ongoing lab and field sampling. Testing to ensure that material produced and shipped meet State, project and customer specifications.
- Conducts in depth problem-solving, detailed data and trend analyses and troubleshooting, reporting results associated with aggregate material performance.
- Assist with the documentation of material control plans and material performance data, procedures and project- specific quality control.
- Performs some service, repair, and calibration of laboratory and field testing equipment
- Carries out regular updates to appropriate Quality Control and Quality Assurance test databases and spreadsheets and provides report summaries or analyses as needed.
- Observe and enforce all Amrize US Safety Standards, Advisories, and Policies.
- Be a responsible advocate for on-the-job safety and the environment.
- Provide troubleshooting guidance and advice, for various customers both internal and external.
- Work under general / minimal supervision; customarily works with limited supervision.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School diploma/GED; two years of post-secondary technical education or course work in Sciences that deals with laboratory functions is preferred. This is a great entry level position for a Geology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences graduate.
Experience: At least two years of experience as materials Q.C. Laboratory Technician, preferred.
Ability to learn the basic operations of aggregate plants. Computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel and Google applications.
This position requires reliability and the ability to lift and carry 50lbs over uneven ground for a distance of 300ft.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
