DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Develop mathematical and statistical models and tools for pricing and risk management of client portfolios and derivative trades. Utilize factor model and Monte Carlo Simulation techniques to measure and evaluate client portfolios' risk. Conduct research on client portfolios' risk profiles to identify main risk drivers and monitor firm's risk level. Formulate and solve large scale portfolio and inventory optimization problems that are subject to various constraints to maximize profit and minimize risk. Apply time series modeling and machine learning techniques to large-scale data to build prediction models about client behavior / risk metric. Perform statistical analysis on proprietary data sets to extract signals that can help business identify profitable opportunities. Implement mathematical and statistical models and data analytics pipelines into firm's development framework. Monitor ongoing performance of client pricing and risk management models to evaluate their model risk proactively. Formulate business problems in mathematical terms to be able to solve them analytically. Collaborate with various stakeholders (Trading, Sales, Risk, Tech, Product Development, etc.) to solve business problems. Support trading desks and risk functions to help them better serve clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Quantitative Research, Quantitative Researcher, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Building mathematical and statistical models to solve business problems in finance including portfolio construction and optimization, quantifying risk of portfolio using Barra Factor Model, running simulation and extracting signals from financial data to help decision making; applying machine learning techniques including Random Forest and XGBoost to build mathematical models in finance; Conducting feature engineering when building statistical models in finance; Conducting analytical research on equity and equity derivative instruments; software development using C++ and Python in various environments including Windows & Linux; Processing and analyzing big data using Python packages including numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, Keras & tensorflow; Relational database management system language including SQL; Stochastic Calculus and Derivative Pricing; Monte Carlo Simulation; Time Series Analysis including ARMA and GARCH; and Linear Programming Optimization.

Duties: Develop, deploy, and support production code and algorithms for electronic market making of agency Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) products in in-house systems. Support MBS trading desk by developing quantitative models, explaining model and algorithm behaviors, carrying out scenario analysis, developing and delivering quantitative tools, and supporting analytics. Develop, maintain, and enhance MBS models for valuation, risk management, PnL calculation, portfolio analytics, quoting and market making algorithms, and analytical tools of fixed income mortgage-related products in Securitized Products Group business. Conduct research to enhance real-time pricing algorithms and hedging strategies using machine learning and statistical modeling techniques. Perform mathematical and statistical analysis, and financial modeling for the development of the securitized products model with Python and SQL. Document models and end-to-end processes for pricing and risk analytics of Securitized Products Group products, and communicate with model review group, business users, and regulators to make models pass strict internal and regulatory standards and facilitate efficient model review and approval. Develop procedures for model calibration and conduct model performance tracking and analysis. QUALIFICATIONS:

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. As a Quantitative Research Analyst - Associate supporting Interest Rate Exotics desk, you will be immersed in a dynamic working environment, supporting trading activity, pricing, risk-management on a diverse portfolio of complex and hybrid interest rate structures.

In additional to model development and implementation, we expect you to share in a balanced mixture of responsibilities, including support for and discussion with traders, model testing and documentation, model deployment, pricing and risk investigation, product-specific analysis, software and trading tool development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop arbitrage-free financial models based on stochastic processes for pricing and risk management of interest rate derivatives.
  • Implement and maintain C++/Python analytics library; write well-formulated documents on testing and validation of models for internal and regulatory reviews/approval.
  • Deliver infrastructural analytics for historical back-testing and conduct research on market behaviors through statistical analysis.
  • Provide on-site support to traders, control functions and other relevant teams: explain model behaviors and Profit and Loss (pnl)-prediction at request; conduct quick diagnosis on any reported model issue; identify major sources of risks in portfolio; carry out scenario analysis; facilitate new business/product structures, etc.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
  • Advanced degree (PhD, Master or equivalent) in Mathematics, Math Finance, Physics, Engineering or other quantitative fields.
  • Good understanding on advanced mathematical topics, e.g. probability theory, stochastic calculus, partial differential equations, numerical analysis, optimization etc.

Job Description

The Quantitative Research (QR) Team design and implement trading platforms to integrate client solutions across various functions. This team contributes to the design and implementation of the algorithmic trading platforms where they integrate quantitative research and data analytics for client solutions across various functions in eTrading.
Our team partners with the electronic trading desk and technology teams to develop sophisticated mathematical models, cutting-edge methodologies and infrastructure to improve the performance of algorithmic trading strategies and promote advanced electronic solutions to our clients worldwide. The Quantitative Algo Dev function within the QR eTrading team works closely with quant researchers, the algo development team and the trading desks to deliver global solutions for our clients.
Job Summary
As a Vice President in the QR eTrading team, you will contribute to the design and implementation of the algorithmic trading platform, integrating quantitative research, data analytics, and client solutions across various functions within eTrading. You will apply optimization techniques to enhance trade scheduling for both single stocks and portfolio trading in the algo engine. Collaborating with researchers in the QR team and working closely with the electronic trading product and algo development technology teams, you will have the opportunity to guide and shape the direction of the platform.
Job Responsibilities
+ Solve and implement numerical algorithms that address the optimization challenges in trade scheduling for multi-period single stock and portfolio products
+ Build robust algorithms within the production platform which will involve collaborating closely with our technology partners to integrate and deliver optimization solutions within the algo trading engine
+ Collaborate with quant researchers and trading desks to refine models and strategies that enhance our trading performance
+ Work closely with the product team and trading desks to design and build client centric solutions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ Masters in STEM subject such as computer science, engineering, mathematics/statistics, physics
+ 5 years of experience in position(s) with similar responsibilities/technologies/business area
+ Experience with optimization techniques relevant to trading strategies
+ Experience coding in Java or C++ Experience working on algorithmic trading platform
+ Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate well with business users and technology teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ Preferred PhD in STEM subject or independent research experience
+ 7+ years preferred experience in position(s) with similar responsibilities/technologies area
+ Experience with stochastic control, stochastic/numerical optimization techniques relevant to single stock or portfolio trading strategies
+ Experience with writing production grade implementations for trading systems in Java/C++ Experience with Python, AWS and/or other database/data processing technologies
+ Experience with q/kdb or similar
+ Knowledge of cash equity markets and microstructure

**Business Intelligence Group**
Data analytics plays a critical role for management to navigating today's complex business environment. The Business Intelligence Group (BIG) drives a comprehensive data strategy from the front office across Markets. The BIG team's role includes delivering key business insights to Sales and Trading through data product development and data visualization across all aspects of the Equities trading business. The role would suit a candidate who is an individual contributor and is highly data literate, analytical, enjoys working directly with the Front Office to solve complex business problems and is interested in working with cutting edge data technologies. The role sits within Quantitative Research (QR), but close collaboration with partners in Product, Technology, Finance / Business Management and Operations will be essential.
**Opportunity**
We are looking for a VP to join the Business Intelligence Group (BIG) in support of the Equities business. The successful candidate will join this strategically important team which is part of the Quantitative Research (QR) organization, while also aligned to other key data and analytics disciplines across Global Markets.
This is a highly visible role within a specialized team of data strategists and as such, will require analytical insight, strong data discipline, sound understanding of technology, keen business acumen, and an entrepreneurial spirit to execute. Strong communication and relationship skills is a must, as well as having the ability to bridge the gap between technology and the business. The role also provides the opportunity to learn and develop skills in cutting edge data analysis and visualization tools, as well as cloud technology.
**Responsibilities will include the following:**
+ Work with desk and business heads to develop data and analytics solutions supporting their business goals and objectives
+ Develop relevant data products that address various business needs and support strategic decision-making
+ Design and create interactive and visually appealing data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, or similar
+ Perform data analysis and provide actionable insights to Sales and Trading
+ Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security by implementing firm standards and best practices in data quality management and governance
+ Work closely with colleagues in Quantitative Research, Technology and the Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) to drive the Markets data strategy forward
**Qualifications:**
+ Relevant Equities product and/or markets knowledge required, including cash and/or derivatives
+ Relevant coding experience with script languages such as Python
+ Adept user of business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, etc.
+ Firm understanding of relational databases, data query languages (e.g. SQL) and cloud technologies (e.g. AWS S3, Redshift, Glue, etc.)
+ Highly adept and passionate about working with data and analytics in a fast paced environment
+ Knowledge of statistics, basic machine learning and/or LLMs a plus

The Credit QR team is responsible for developing and maintaining models for valuation, risk, and P&L calculations, as well as creating quoting and market-making algorithms and analytical tools. The Credit business facilitates secondary markets in high-grade bonds/CDS, high-yield bonds/CDS, distressed bonds, indices, options, correlation products, and other exotic structures.
**Job Summary:**
As a Vice President for the Credit Quantitative Research team at J.P. Morgan, you will enhance our real-time risk management capabilities for trading stakeholders. This role is pivotal in advancing our current systems to monitor market dynamics and their impact on our positions across the Credit Trading desk. J.P. Morgan Global Credit Trading delivers premier, integrated financial services to a global clientele, offering financial assets and liquidity solutions for banks, insurance companies, finance companies, mutual funds, and hedge funds. This opportunity is based in our New York team, focusing on enhancing the current real-time risk management solution while designing a new, future-proof strategic infrastructure. + Address the current infrastructure's shortcomings by gathering user feedback and ensuring consistent and accurate risk and P&L views.

**Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:**
+ Knowledge of the credit and fixed income business with a structured approach to problem-solving.
+ Strong software design and data science skills, with experience in Python preferred.
+ Interest in good software design principles.
+ Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction with trading, technology, and peer QR teams.
