Dependent on the successful candidate's technical background and expertise, multiple research initiatives will be supported. What will you do?
You will work with teams to address key questions through quantum computing algorithm experimentation and development efforts on various in-house technological platforms. You will be integrated with a team that is working on an R&D project to which you will contribute by designing, conducting, and overseeing scientific studies and experiments. You will document your research efforts and work, share analyses and present results to senior level R&D staff and management personnel. The successful candidate(s) will receive additional training in product development and related R&D programs. You will have an opportunity to contribute to innovation and have an ability to develop ideas into real world solutions. When applicable, you will be encouraged to publish your work or present at conferences.
Education
The position is offered to candidates in a Ph.D. program in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantum Information Theory, Theoretical Physics, or a related field.
The successful candidate will have a track record of academic success and scientific methodology in their chosen field.
- Experience with quantum algorithms and quantum circuits is required.
- Experience with quantum development platforms and current/near-term quantum hardware is required.
- Strong desire and motivation to develop a career as a future leader in R&D
- Ability to manage, plan, and prioritize projects
- Demonstrated leadership proficiency, learning agility, and adaptability
- Effective communication skills, especially for presenting scientific results, keeping records, and working collaboratively in a team of scientists are necessary.

**Compensation and Benefits**
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $2.50- 38.50.
