We are seeking an experienced Radar Systems Engineer to lead the adaptation and integration of radar systems design overseas. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical design, customization, and integration of cutting-edge radar technologies, ensuring they meet defense specifications and requirements. You will work closely with both U.S. and overseas teams to adapt the systems, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure system performance and compliance. This role involves 25% travel, including periodic trips to partner countries to support collaboration and system integration efforts.
Responsibilities :
+ Lead the technical adaptation of foreign radar systems for U.S. defense applications, ensuring compliance with military specifications and standards.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, software engineers, and field service teams, to integrate radar systems into larger defense platforms and technologies.
+ Provide technical expertise in radar system design, integration, testing, and optimization to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
+ Conduct radar system simulations, performance analysis, and troubleshooting to resolve complex issues and optimize system performance.
+ Manage system-level design and integration processes, from requirements gathering through to final implementation, validation, and deployment.
+ Oversee radar system testing, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and end-to-end system validation, to ensure systems meet performance and safety criteria.
+ Work closely with stakeholders to ensure radar systems are properly integrated and aligned with operational requirements.
+ Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system architecture, integration plans, test procedures, and user manual s.
+ Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, offering guidance on technical challenges and best practice s.
+ Conduct regular technical reviews and provide input on design improvements, system enhancements, and risk mitigation strategies.
+ Participate in the certification process , ensuring that radar systems comply with regulations and standards.
+ Support radar system deployment, offering technical assistance and troubleshooting during installation and operational setup.
+ Stay current on developments in radar technology, defense systems, and defense regulations, and recommend improvements based on industry trend s.
Basic Hiring Criteria :
+ Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in radar systems engineering, with a focus on defense or aerospace applications.
+ Strong knowledge of radar system design, signal processing, RF systems, and performance analysis.
+ Extensive experience with radar system integration, testing, and troubleshooting in complex defense environments.
+ Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) standards, including military specifications for radar systems.
+ Proven track record of working with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated radar solutions.

KBR is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA supporting our operations at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department Radar Systems Division B40 and B0 .
In this role, you will provide sensor systems expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle-from concept exploration to sustainment-for US Navy (USN) and US Marine Corps (USMC) radar systems. These systems include the Dual Band Radar (DBR), Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6, Enhanced Radar Data Display System (ERDDS), Enhanced Coherent Data Collection System (ECDCS0), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and others. Your primary focus will be Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3).
Responsibilities:
+ Requirements development, software verification, system integration support, antenna design, radar performance testing and analyses, signal processing, and radar operations support.
+ Design radar system architectures, develop operational concepts, and create radar processing algorithms. Define and decompose system, hardware, and software requirements, ensuring seamless integration into systems.
+ Perform statistical analysis of radar system performance, using both real and simulated data to assess capabilities.
+ Build and refine MATLAB , C++ and Python simulations to test radar concepts and processing techniques.
+ Perform test and evaluation activities, including laboratory testing plans, new technology evaluation documents, usability engineering documents , and laboratory testing of SW/MW test articles developed.

+ Apply cutting-edge signal and data processing techniques, including machine learning, to large datasets to create novel solutions.

+ Prepare clear and detailed technical documentation and reports, presenting progress and findings to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

+ Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance
