Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, implement, and test multi-stage low-noise RF amplifiers.
- Select and integrate components such as MMICs, LNAs, bias networks, and digital attenuators.
- Operate and interpret results from RF test equipment including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers.
- Utilize commercial RF simulation tools such as ADS, CST Studio, and Ansys HFSS.
- Design and integrate shielding solutions for sensitive electronic circuits.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer preferred).
- Calculate and optimize noise figure and signal-to-noise ratio.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines to ensure manufacturable and scalable solutions.

This position conducts full Acceptance Testing of Space and Intel products using established test procedures. This position will utilize test equipment which includes but not limited to oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, DMM, power supply, network analyzer, signal generators, and automated test equipment. Position requires the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with focus on quality and attention to detail. Other tasks will include troubleshooting, plus reviewing and updating test procedures.
Essential Functions:
+ Ability to read schematic diagrams, electronic assembly drawings, engineering change orders, test procedures and rework documents.
+ Perform Acceptance Testing (i.e. vibration simulation, thermal cycles, and thermal vacuum) on flight hardware by following a specified test procedure.
+ Test and troubleshoot RF, digital and/or analog top assemblies with little or no supervision.

The applicant must have extensive experience in microwave design techniques, FPGA and embedded system development, radio signal processing, simulation tools and microwave test equipment. This position will work closely with antenna engineers on state-of-the-art phased array antennas, requiring a solid foundational understanding of antenna design and phased array applications including Electronic Beam Steering (EBS) and Direction Finding (DF). A successful candidate will be capable of making technical presentations to peers, program leadership, and customers and assist in new business development.
**Responsibilities**
The candidate will provide knowledge and individual execution within engineering projects requiring design, prototyping, analysis, testing, fabrication and integration of RF/microwave systems, into multi-disciplinary engineering solutions. The Radio Frequency (RF) Test Engineer will support the testing of vendor provided developmental and production hardware and software. This role requires a deep understanding of RF principles, test methodologies, and the ability to work with advanced test equipment and emerging technologies. The engineer will perform engineering-based functions ensuring the combined RF test lab successfully executes standards conformance and interoperability certification testing. The RF Lab testing functional areas include High Frequency, Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Satellite Communications, and Very High Frequency/UHF Line of Sight. The selected candidate will provide subject matter expertise on technical RF testing issues and recommendations on relevant testing or necessary modifications to maintain the lab's independent waveform testing systems. This position is 100% on-site in a government facility.
Responsibilities
+ Evaluate and modify existing test plans and procedures to determine if existing procedures are sufficient for a waveform test technician to execute. Investigate new ways of testing requirements to increase efficiency or accuracy.
+ Develop new test plans and procedures.
+ Attend working group meetings for new and existing standards.
+ Execute test equipment setup. Perform functionality checks on equipment. Set up and configure equipment for new and existing capabilities using waveform-specific test kits made up of all test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment necessary to test a terminal's military standard compliance.
+ Provide engineering assistance to the test team technicians before, during, and after test execution.
+ Recommend equipment, facility, or capability for upgrade, replacement, or discontinuation associated with the annual lab modernization effort.
+ Develop test scripts, programs, and procedures to automate testing and increase lab efficiency.
+ Provide recommendations on candidate subtests for reevaluation following a comprehensive review of vendor-provided documentation noting RF terminal software and hardware changes that have been previously assessed/certified.
