Radiologic Technologist/CT Tech Job Responsibilities
- Perform radiology procedures following physician orders and department protocols.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology. ARRT registered or registry eligible for the ARRT certification in radiography. One year experience in a customer service or comparable capacity which demonstrates ability to interface appropriately and effectively with the public. Excellent grammar and articulation skills.
Preferred: Medical office experience in an occupational medicine or workman's compensation setting would be preferred.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Required: Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography or registry eligible. Must become registered within one year of hire date. Current CPR certification of must obtain within 30 days of hire.

Determines exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic techniques with minimum radiation exposure. IV certification.
1 year experience in general radiography setting.

Schedule: day/ evening shift, 8 hour variable, on call responsibility, weekend rotation
SUMMARY:
Performs high quality Radiographic exams as directed by the Radiologist. Assists in the daily routines of the Imaging Department. Responsible for performing any procedures that are part of General Radiology, including special procedures, OR cases, portable exams, etc. This is in accordance with approved techniques, policies and regulatory standards as established by regulatory agencies, standards and policies set forth by the organization. Adheres to the professional standards of the NYS Department of Health, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs direct patient care: Applies knowledge of anatomy, positioning and radiographic techniques for each exam. Determines exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic techniques with minimum radiation exposure. Follows the ALARA principle in incorporating collimation and shielding in accordance with policy and procedures. Performs any special procedures as part of DI services, prepares contrast media for exams as needed. Greets Patients/family in professional manner and can adequately listen and take care of patient concerns or refer concerns as needed. Utilizes two patient identifiers per policy, verifies Provider order accuracy, educates patients pre/during and post procedure. Ensures that patients are properly dressed and prepped for all exams.
Maintains Equipment, supplies, cleanliness and Safety: Follows CPH Infection control P&P with regards to Isolation, universal precautions, cleansing of equipment. Maintains an adequate amount of supplies within exam rooms as needed for schedule. Performs daily QA/QC on equipment as required per manufacturer and/or NYS-reports any mechanical issues or system errors to Biomed Department. Wears radiation film badge per guidelines and turns in each month for monitoring.
