**Radiology Coordinator** **Responsibilities** **:**
+ **The Radiology Coordinator performs diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.**
+ **May perform minor invasive procedures and support operating room and emergency department diagnostic imaging services.**
+ **Responsible for coordinating all workflow related to imaging patient care, RIS data management, file room, general clerical, physician assistance, patient transportation and other related duties as necessary.**
**Requirements:**
+ **BLS (Basic Life Support)**
+ **ARRT (Radiologic Technologists)**
+ **Radiology License - State of Florida**
+ **Technical Diploma (Radiology) OR Associates Degree - Radiology**

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
+ Facilitates the daily operations of the department by providing direction and support to the technologists with guidance from the IR Supervisor.
+ Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner. Monitors patient's condition and communicates with the appropriate caregivers as needed.
+ Maintains a working knowledge with respect to CPT coding.
+ Maintains competency and proficiency with all Interventional Radiology equipment in order to obtain quality images.
+ Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilizes all personal protective equipment. Operates Interventional Radiology equipment safely.
+ Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e.: Meditech, RIS, PACS) to ensure proper procedural documentation and charges.
+ Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner. Explain all procedures to the patient. Performs physical assessment by checking IV's, catheters, tubing, etc. Communicates and coordinates all Interventional Radiology procedures with the appropriate caregivers.
+ Utilizes independent judgment and competence with regard to assisting the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of patient care. Maintains sterile technique during Interventional Radiology procedures. Proficient with IV injections.
+ Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. technical quality, correct anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) and completes verification process in PACS.
+ Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties.
+ Completes and maintains educational requirements.
+ Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient information according to HIPAA Policy and Procedure.
**What qualifications you will need:**
**EXPERIENCE**
+ Minimum 3 years of experience as Radiologic Technologist.- required
+ Multi-years experience as Interventional Technologist, with progressive management experience. Experience with PACS System operations. - preferred
**EDUCATION**
+ Graduate of AMA School of Radiologic Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.- required
+ Baccalaureate Degree - preferred
**LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION**
+ American Registry of Radiologic Technology - required
+ ARRT Certification - Cardiovascular / Interventional - preferred
+ Current CPR certification - required

- Function as a Medical Assistant to room patients; obtain vitals, reconcile medications, and interview patients to identify chief complaints.
- Provides a high level of expertise to mentor staff/students and problem solving.
- Perform regular QC checks and coordinate machine maintenance as needed.
- Perform regular QA checks for each technician. Provide coaching and additional training when necessary.
- Address and record any errors or incidents with technicians.
- Acts as liaison between the Radiology Department and Urgent Care clinics to ensure up to date practice for all techs.
- Using initiative, good judgment and technical expertise to perform a wide-range of imaging procedures. Acts as a positive role model/mentor for staff and students in demonstrating good behaviors, interpersonal relations and promotes a high degree of morale.
- Applies the principles of teamwork in all aspects of providing patient services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a JRCERT accredited Radiography program.
- ARRT Certification/Eligible in good standing
- State of Connecticut License/Eligible
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Three to five years experience as Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT, RDMS, NMTCB etc) required.
One to three years leadership experience including coaching and counseling staff, and developing staff schedules.
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Demonstrated high level of technical expertise and competency in two or more imaging modalities.
Demonstrated good communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interact positively with all levels of health care workers and guests required.
Demonstrated good organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks/projects simultaneously required.
Demonstrated good judgment and problem solving skills with the ability to function independently and make decisions required.
Demonstrated flexibility, teamwork and the ability to build consensus required.
Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets preferred.

Position Summary
The Radiology Coordinator supervises, coordinates and oversees the daily operations, workflow, customer service and quality control of imaging services within the Urgent Care modality.
