- Monitor patrons entering the park and ask to see annual Dog Park permit tag for each dog.

- Allow only children over age twelve inside the off-leash area.

Summary Description

- Master's degree in Social Work.

The duties of the X-ray Technician vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location and type. All exams must be performed using the ALARA principle to minimize radiation dose to the patient.
**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Positions patient under X-ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices, and provides appropriate radiation protection; adjusts switches regulating length and intensity of exposure
+ Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians including procedures, EKG's, phlebotomy and injections.
+ Prepares reports and maintains records of services rendered; maintains radiological film files and storage, pulls X-rays as required for referrals and/or copying; keeps logs for x-rays sent out for referrals. Keeps an updated log that consolidates X-rays performed against reports received.
+ Maintains supplies, equipment, practices OSHA safety standards, performs accurate, legal and ethical documentation at all times.

Job Responsibility:
- Triage patients and take patients history and vital signs
- Prepare patients for exams and treatments
- Perform Rapid Strep Tests, Rapid flu tests, EKG's
- Handle telephone calls
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures in children
- Protects patient, parents, self, and other staff from radiation hazards
- Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients and includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area
- Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis. Adjusts/sets radiographic controls
- Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the child's body as requested by physicians
- Checks X-rays for clarity of image, retaking when needed
- Distributes X-rays to appropriate medical staff
- Performs quantity and quality control checks to assure X-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies
- Complies with safety standards
- Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;
- Must be AART registered or eligible also IDNS licensed
- CPR certification
- One to three years of experience as X-ray technician, preferably in pediatric practice environment
Skills:
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology
