Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) Systems Integration and Test Department is seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Systems Engineer with expertise in airborne and space electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting sensor systems. The Systems Engineer plans and manages the multidisciplinary/cross-functional engineering activities and associated budgets, guides engineering follow-through of work products and support, supports proposal and change management activities for engineering and supports the bid manager for proposals within engineering. The Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test Department is responsible for all Electro-Optic Imaging Systems Definition, Architecture, Integration, product Verification & Validation along with program and project technical implementation to cost and schedule.

What You Will Do:

• You will work with the Program Chief Engineer (PCE) to ensure products are developed and delivered within the allotted cost, schedule, technical quality and performance parameters

• You will provide systems engineering technical leadership to RVS EO/IR infrared focalplane array (IR FPA) programs and special projects

• You will regularly collaborate with a multidisciplinary team made up of Systems, Test, Software, Firmware, Mechanical, and Electrical engineers

• You will actively manage engineering risks and opportunities with the PCE to ensure proactive execution

• You will coordinate and compile Engineering inputs for proposals and present bid summaries to management

• Lead technical support efforts for production and development activities

• Oversee and direct trade studies, presenting comprehensive results to key stakeholders

• Communicate technical findings and strategic solutions to leadership and customers effectively

• Lead technical team to identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging

• Oversee/perform the update, development, maintenance, and improvement of requirements, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience

• EO/IR system experience with hands on experience in the design, analysis, development, troubleshooting, and testing of EO subsystems, including familiarity with IR FPA technology

• Experience developing product specifications and requirements management, including distilling and deriving requirements for lower-level subassemblies and components

• Experience with system design, trade studies, optimization, and performance assessment

• Experience creating and modifying documentation in support of reviews associated with formal gating events and testing, which may include System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship Review (CTSR) and Test Data Review (TDR) packages.

• Demonstrated team leadership skills and excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with to effectively communicate across experience bases

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Factory production and direct experience with IR FPA design and testing for tactical and/or space environments

• Familiarity with vacuum packaging, dewar design, cryogenic cooling, and/or opto-mechanics

• Experience with requirements Organization via DOORs

• Experience creating analytical models and scripting for data analysis (MATLAB preferred)

• Ability to effectively plan, lead, and execute root-cause and corrective-action (RCCA) efforts

• Prior experience with ROIC wafer probing, fabrication, integration, verification, and validation for a complex EO/IR system.

• EVMS Certification and demonstrated ability to manage Engineering team budgets and staffing demand

• Familiarity with Earned Value Management

+ You will collaborate with the Program Chief Engineer (PCE) and Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) in the development of product and sub-system requirements, IV&V plans, and production test design
+ You will lead the development and execution of the test architecture from bid through production, own the test system design, and collaborate with and lead a multi-disciplinary team to achieve these goals
+ You will lead execution and procurement activities in support of the test factory
+ You will regularly partner with operations and manufacturing teams to enable efficient product flow, provide actionable metrics, minimize cycle time, and maximize yield
+ You will perform data analysis and modeling of test and product data
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline and a minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience. + Experience performing and executing test methodology within an E/O system.

+ Experience with programming in LABVIEW and/or MATLAB
**Qualifications We Prefer:**
+ Experience with requirements test development, test analysis, derivations, verification and test validation.
+ Experience developing and, or executing factory test plans, procedures, and equipment to support an EO/IR Focal Plane Array sensor system and ROICs
+ Analytical capabilities, or an ability to relate observed phenomenon back to first principals

**Job Summary:**
As a member of our elite Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team, we want you to develop solutions to protect the Warfighter's technology advantage. Systems Security Engineering creates holistic security solutions leveraging Anti-Tamper (AT), Cyber Security, Software Assurance, and Supply Chain Risk Management to support Program Protection Implementation on embedded weapons systems.
This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
+ (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
+ (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
+ (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship

**What You Will Do:**
+ Supporting the development of cybersecurity / anti-tamper requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies
+ Defining security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software component
+ Understanding and integrating cybersecurity development activities
+ Performing analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results
+ Conducting technical and nontechnical trade studies
+ Validate secure configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, and other assets, using
+ DoD approved scanning and assessment tools such as ACAS, STIG, SCAP Compliance Checker, and HBSS
+ Apply written and oral communication skills
+ Participate in the design and development of systems
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2026.
+ Applied engineering experience or coursework with exposure in one or more of the following domains: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware development, Systems Integration and/or Test, ASIC development, Cybersecurity, System Security, Digital Electronics design or similar work history.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
**Qualifications We Prefer:**
+ Cyber Security or Program Protection experience and / or course work
+ 3.00 cumulative GPA required
+ Active Department of Defense clearance
+ Past work experience (professional or academic) interacting with multidisciplinary teams of system design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers
+ Experience in design, development and fielding of secure systems for military applications: "relevant experience" is knowledge of a broad array of program protection concepts, reverse engineering tools and techniques, failure analysis, and cryptography.
+ Detailed understanding of and experience in engineering security solutions for Government customers
+ Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations after synthesizing or generating technical materials from multidisciplinary sources
+ Matlab and/or C++ experience
+ Modeling and Simulation experience
+ Experience with model-based systems engineering
+ Ability to visualize system functionality, to create block diagrams, and to analyze system performance
+ Ability to analyze issues and define solutions
+ Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance
+ Familiarity with DoD customer infrastructure with respect to command and control, telemetry, flight test, ISR, fixed wing, and/or rotary wing systems
+ Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
+ Strong communication skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills

This position requires a security clearance. **DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS)** , an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website here: salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
