The salary for this role is $120,000.00 - $140,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

Responsibilities include designing and executing experiments to identify optimal reaction conditions, developing scalable synthesis routes, characterizing intermediates and final products, and ensuring process safety through rigorous hazard assessments. You will work closely with R&D scientists, analytical chemists, and plant engineers to facilitate smooth technology transfer from bench to pilot scale and ultimately to full production. Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR, and MS is essential for in-process monitoring and product characterization. This position requires meticulous record-keeping, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities to document findings and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:

• Design and execute experiments to optimize chemical synthesis routes for yield, purity, and efficiency.
• Develop scalable processes suitable for pilot plant and commercial manufacturing.
• Characterize raw materials, intermediates, and final products using various analytical techniques.
• Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety measures for new and existing processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during process development and scale-up.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists, engineers, and production teams to ensure smooth technology transfer.
• Develop process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch records.
• Investigate and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve process performance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Process Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development chemistry within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and reaction mechanism understanding.
• Proficiency with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, NMR, MS, FTIR).
• Experience with process safety assessments and scale-up principles.
• Familiarity with chemical engineering concepts and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and experimental design skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory and plant environment in Omaha, Nebraska, US .
