A Day In The Life Of A Recreation Assistant
As a Recreation Assistant, you help in the planning and executing of recreational, cultural, and religious activities for the senior residents at our assisted living facility. Working with the activities director, you help implement individual and group activities that are therapeutic in nature. With enthusiasm, you interact with seniors and keep them engaged in our community. You love knowing that you're making a huge difference in their lives!

- A heart for serving seniors

As an entry-level Recreation Assistant, you work with our team to plan and implement a variety of activities for our assisted living residents. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Recreation Manager and assigned under the direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, performs recreation work in one or more of the following areas:
- Official, referee, or umpire in basketball, baseball, flag football, soccer games for league or tournament play, and/or softball.
- Scorekeeper in basketball, softball, baseball, and/or kickball.
- Site supervisor in activities and sporting events and with participants, coaches, spectators, parents, and possibly officials.
- Supervises participants, student, and spectators, and facility according to league and sport rules.
Official, referee, or umpire -
- Ensures guidelines, rules, and sportsmanship are enforced; maintains safety of staff, participants and citizens.
- Officiates assigned games for leagues and tournament play.
- Assists in field/court set up and take down; reports field/courts issues the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Manager.
- Conducts safety and related inspections.
- Prepares reports and other written documents as needed.
- Resolves problems and conflicts on-site; reports issues with coaches, players, parents, or spectators to the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Manager.
- Complies with all Draper City policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Keeps score of assigned games.
- Ensures rules are followed.
- Assists the Referee or Umpire in game management.

- Recreation Worker III - Six years of experience in officiating or coaching assigned sport, or athletic administration.

- Valid Utah driver license
- National federation of high school sports (NFHS) or equivalent
- Site supervisor must be First-aid certified within 90 days of hire.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
