We're looking for an experienced Warehouse Recycling Specialist to join our team.
Recycling Specialists perform job duties in a warehouse setting and are expected to accomplish physically demanding work. The Recycling Specialist must work safely and efficiently to ensure that the warehouse is clean and all items are correctly sorted into their correct area for recycling or redistribution.
Responsibilities include:
- Unload cardboard bales with a forklift
- Move stacks of empty pallets or other bins/totes (filled with items such as bagged plastic, bottles, organic product, etc.) with pallet jack
- Sweep and pressure wash refrigerated and grocery trailers
- Operate trash compactors
- Consolidate recyclable cardboard with baler
- Work is performed in a warehouse setting and is physically demanding.
- Perform duties safely and efficiently while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure that operations are aligned and performed to achieve production and safety goals
- Perform all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals
- All other duties as assigned

Education:

Experience:
- Prior experience as a warehouse associate is preferred
- Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., order selector/picking product storage, product staging, powered pallet jack/forklifts, etc.)
- Working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.)
- Good verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write English for effective communication
- Willingness to work the required schedule
- Ability to speak and write English for effective communication.
- Basic math skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions
- Interact respectfully and courteously with associates, co-workers, management, and customers

Requires lifting and pulling bags/receptacles weighing from 50 to 75 pounds, in addition to mounting and dismounting a truck multiple times per shift. Supports the recording of collected material weights; must have strong organizational skills and the ability to document collections. Assists in facility and vehicle management maintenance. Ensures a clean, safe work environment in compliance with university standards as well as federal, state and local requirements. Knowledgeable of Emory University's goals for sustainability, specifically in regards to waste minimization. Responsible for sorting and handling waste, recycling, and compostable materials to ensure that all materials are disposed of properly. Communicates with supervisor to ensure work orders are processed on time and labor completed. Supports the needs of the department by being a team player and being flexible regarding route and schedule adjustments. Candidate must have experience operating large trucks, bailer, shredding equipment, and forklifts, or a minimum of thirty days to complete training. Candidate must have knowledge of HIPPA regulations and proper handling of confidential materials. Adheres to and complies with Emory University safety and security standards. Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise housekeeping, laundry, and floor care staff, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and federal/state requirements.
- Perform and lead teams in light housekeeping, heavy housekeeping, and laundry aide duties across varying shifts.
- Lead staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; ensure timely completion of projects and programs.
- Maintain records of income, expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment while using HCSG computer software.
- Act as liaison between building occupants/administrators and HCSG staff; communicate directives effectively.
- Use protective gear appropriately; ensure safe use of cleaning solutions and adherence to safety precautions.
- Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks.
- Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions with supervisors, co-workers, client staff, residents, and guests.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two years of experience in healthcare housekeeping and supervision preferred.
- Maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership to perform daily tasks.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
- Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
- Able to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.
- Residency within the service area required.
