Entry level operator at the Big West Oil, North Salt Lake Refinery. The refinery operator will work independently and with other personnel to safely maintain and operate equipment and processes. Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include: outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration, and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the regular wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities may include:

The Operator will be responsible for grain handling and oilseed production equipment to meet the quality and production requirements to ensure on time supply of products for the customer.
The working hours for this opening are 4pm-12am.
**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Performs all work within safety and environmental guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies
+ Assist in all phases of oilseed-crushing and refining operations, including receiving, packing, loading and shipping products
+ Assist with quality and safety checks as established by company policies and procedures
+ Assist operators with plant operations including equipment monitoring and handling process aids

Able to move freely throughout the AgiBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), walking on elevated bar-grating platforms, carrying tools and equipment (0 -50 lbs), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 degree Fahrenheit), humidity (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemical (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus, hard hat, safety glasses, protective footwear and other PPE as required. The **Lake Charles Refinery** is located in Westlake, Louisiana. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. Facilities also include a specialty coker and calciner. The refinery processes a mixture of light to heavy, low- and high sulfur and low- and high-acid crude oils. It receives domestic, Canadian and other foreign crude oil through truck, pipeline, marine transportation and terminals, including the Beaumont and Clifton Ridge terminals and the Bayou Bridge Pipeline. Lake Charles produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include off-road diesel, home heating oil, feedstock for our Excel Paralubes joint venture, specialty graphite petroleum coke and petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed in the southeastern and eastern United States by truck, rail car, barge or pipelines and exported to Latin America and West Africa.
The starting hourly contract rate for Operator Trainees is $37.23 per hour. Once fully qualified, Outside Operator contract rate is $0.26 and fully qualified Console Operator contract rate is 51.46.
