As Carbon Robotics's Regulatory Compliance and Certification Engineer , you will ensure our LaserWeeder and autonomous vehicle platforms meet all applicable safety standards and regulations while driving certification programs to completion. You will be laser focused on navigating the complex regulatory landscape for agricultural robotics, autonomous vehicles, and laser systems while working closely with engineering teams to implement compliant designs from concept through production. You will coordinate heavily with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams as well as Program Management, Manufacturing, and Legal to ensure our products can be legally operated in all target markets.
What you'll do:
- Lead compliance and certification programs for LaserWeeder and autonomous vehicle platforms across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage laser safety certifications across multiple geographies (US, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, etc.)
- Support Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, and Software design teams in defining compliance and certification requirements at the beginning of programs
- Support test engineering in functional, performance, and safety validation testing for new products and features. May also include coordinating EMC/EMI testing and manage FCC, CE, and other electromagnetic compatibility certifications
- Interface with test houses, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies to obtain required documentation and approvals
- Create and maintain compliance documentation including technical files, test plans, and declaration of conformity
- Track evolving regulations for autonomous agricultural equipment and advise on future compliance strategies
- At least 8-15 years experience managing compliance programs for complex machinery (agricultural, automotive, aerospace or robotics preferred)
- Experience navigating multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements and managing certification timelines
- Strong technical background to understand mechanical, electrical, and software system designs
- Proven project management skills to coordinate certification efforts across multiple products
- Experience working with workflow management tools such as Jira and documentation tools such as Confluence
- Excellent communication skills for working with engineers, regulators, and external test facilities
- Willingness to travel ~20% to test facilities, certification bodies, and field locations
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) preferred

The Customs Compliance Specialist supports the Customs Compliance function by managing administrative tasks and assisting with project execution. They serve as a connector between internal teams and external partners, including the U.S. Customs Broker and international suppliers. Key duties include maintaining accurate records, processing international shipping documents, and verifying compliance with international trade regulations.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Custom Compliance Operations team on documentation-related issues and compliance troubleshooting, ensuring timely resolution or escalation as needed.
- Support CC Analysts by updating Free Trade Agreement (FTA) WIP and affidavits, flagging any issues that require attention or resolution.
- Track various activities including exams and ADD/CVD sheets for the broker; process and reconcile CBP refunds; and ensure the recordkeeping system is accurately updated.
- Conduct internal audits related to import, export, payments, and systems, identifying and flagging issues for timely resolution.
- Maintain and update team process documentation, training manuals, and templates to ensure accuracy and alignment with current procedures and process changes.
- Create export invoices and commodity forms and file AES (Automated Export System) entries for international customer export shipments to ensure compliance with export regulations.
- Process Post Summary Corrections (PSC) to ensure compliance with US Customs Regulations.

Job Description
Our large CDMO client in Redmond is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer for site MSAT to join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team. The role report to the Sr Manager Manufacturing Compliance, and will be responsible to support manufacturing related deviations and process related change controls.
Roles and responsibilities:
+ Authors and leads deviation investigations.
+ Authors and reviews process related documentation (technical documents, test protocols, batch records, process descriptions, SOPs, etc).
+ Authors and reviews change controls including managing change implementation of the change as the assigned change agent.
+ Utilize technical skills and process knowledge to participate and/or lead investigations related to process/ New product implementation. Collaborate with impacted groups to drive implementation of CAPAs from approval to closure & effectiveness check.
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives for upstream or downstream process improvements.
Position Requirements:
+ Masters (or Bachelors) degree in Engineering with 1+ (4+) years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience including a minimum of 2-4 years of supporting upstream cell culture or downstream purification manufacturing activities for biopharmaceutical products. (downstream experience preferred)
+ Proven record of accomplishment and self-directed leadership in GMP pharmaceutical or biotechnology is required.
+ Familiarity with root cause analysis methods and experience owning and authoring deviations.
+ Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems and have experience working with various Manufacturing related document types.
+ Demonstrated capabilities to work with high-performing teams, drive change, and influence internal and external stakeholders.
+ Extensive knowledge of US FDA CFRs and European EMA, including ICH guidelines, as they relate to drug substance biological manufacturing.
+ Good interpersonal, team, and collaborative skills are required.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.

The incumbent ill report to Environmental Manager and will provide support to and direction from the Environmental Supervisor. The selected candidate for this position will have the primary responsibility of ensuring that West Sound Base Operation Support Contract (WSBOSC) subcontractors conduct their work within contract requirements as well as Federal, State, and County Regulations. The successful execution of this position will protect human health and the environment and reduce the prime contractor's liability potential.

This position is located at an active naval industrial installation setting characterized by high-volumes of work under varied conditions and responsibilities. The role involves working around heavy machinery, Ships, locomotives, and other mechanical systems commonly found at naval facilities. Candidates should be comfortable in these types of fast-paced environments.
**Essential Duties & Job Functions:**
**PRIMARY DUTY** :
- **Work with** Amentum IDIQ management and construction managers
- **Review contract** Statement of Work (SOW) to identify any activities that contain potential negative environmental impacts.
- **Communicate** with subcontractor concerning potential impacts and SOW submittals ( Environmental Protection Plan (EPP), Waste Information Specification (WIS), Contractor Hazardous Material Inventory Sheet (CHMI) and associated paperwork).
- **Review** all subcontractor submittals for accuracy and completeness.
- **Communicate** with subcontractor when issues are found.
- **Review** and approve an Environmental Protection Plan
- **Perform** detailed field audits to assess compliance with the EPP, Federal, State, County Regulations and Navy Environmental regulations and requirements.
- **Prepare** thorough audit reports that outline key findings, risks, and compliance gaps and provide actionable recommendations.
- **Ensure** the subcontractor has all required environmental permits, licenses, and associated documentation to ensure all operations are compliant with Federal, State, and local regulations.
**SECONDARY DUTY** : Develop and review environmental compliance documents. Conduct program assessments. Respond to customer questions. Conduct environmental audits of other departments. Recommend corrective actions when risks or inefficiencies are identified.
**ADDITIONAL DUTIES** : Additional duties in direct support of departmental mission requirements as assigned.
**Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):**
**Mandatory**
- Broad background in environmental science and management with knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
- Minimum of four years' experience with the environmental auditing or compliance.
- Experience conducting site assessments, writing audit reports, and recommending corrective actions.
- High School Diploma
- 3-5 years of experience in operations analysis, project controls, or management support on a DoD or federal service contract.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Current valid state issued driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship
**Preferred**
- BS/BA degree in either environmental science, engineering, environmental management, chemistry or biology from an accredited university preferred.
- Experience on a NAVFAC or DoD BOSC contract.
- Knowledge of CMMS tools such as Maximo, IWMS, or similar.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification.
- Familiarity with PWS, CPARs, and QASP frameworks.
- Current SECRET Security Clearance.
The base salary range for this position **is $80,000 to $95,000** . Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
