**Job Summary and Qualifications**
**POSITION SUMMARY:** Functions as the director of inpatient rehab to include physician therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy areas. Responsible for oversight of all clinical aspects within these disciplines. Interacts with all departments, staff, and patients in a professional, ethical fashion with exceptional quality of care being the expectation at all times. The department functions seven days per week.
**JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:**
1. Develops appropriate, functional and measurable goals and a plan of treatment based on input from the patient/family.
2. Performs a variety of techniques to improve function, tone, strength, ROM, balance, etc.
3. Utilizes positioning as a technique to prevent or reduce deformities and/or promote function.
4. Assesses indications for, fit of, and proper use of orthotics/prosthetics.
5. Assist with patient caseload according dept needs/census.
6. Recognizes and incorporates specific precautions into patient's treatment program.
7. Monitors vital signs should the patient's medical condition warrants it.
8. Completes all appropriate documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
9. Follows all professional code of ethics and standards of practice.
10. Completes all pertinent documentation in initial evaluation, progress notes, discharge summaries and daily charges within a timely manner.
11. Willingly accepts work assignments in a flexible and positive manner.
12. Discusses patient's status and needs with patient, health care providers as appropriate, in order to assure appropriate care.
13. Provides adequate direction and supervision to support personnel and students.
14. Functions as preceptor for customer service standards with staff as needed.
15. Leads by example and inspires employees to highest potential.

Job Duties
Plan, organize and delegate activities as required for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the department including active participation with other hospital and leadership staff to accomplish this objective. Develop and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards that direct department operations As required for service, verify that standards are consistent with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements. **Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Nurse Manager is a registered nurse with twenty-four hour (24) - Seven (7) day/week, responsibility for all operational aspects of their respective unit. The position encompasses human resource management, including recommending sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to provide care; financial and clinical management, and the provision and development of professional leadership. The Nurse Manager establishes departmental goals and objectives that ensure high quality, cost-effective patient care, while working collaboratively to integrate the goals of their department with those at Kingwood Medical Center. The philosophy of continuous quality improvement (CQI) is integrated by the Nurse Manager into all ongoing operations and activities of the department.
The Nurse Manager is expected to provide relief staffing within their unit, and to apply knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs.

The Rehabilitation Services Manager is responsible for management and growth of Acute, Outpatient & Inpatient Rehab Therapy Department, including program development and marketing, PI, budget and personnel management.

**Job Summary:**
Under direct supervision of a physical or occupational therapist, assists in providing patient care, including assistance with insurance prior authorization. Takes responsibility for equipment maintenance and supply inventory for the therapy services department. Travel among sites is required.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Rooms patients, takes vitals and preparespatientfor treatment.
+ Provides direct care to patients as directed and supervised by a therapist.
+ Recognizes and acts when patient care requires intervention by a therapist.
+ Maintains clean and safe conditions for patient care areas and equipment.Monitors equipment function. Performs and records required equipment calibration tasks.
+ Documents and communicates usingthe electronic health record including: insurance prior authorizations; patientcalls and communications.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
A portion of the responsibilities involve managing/supervising/coordinating all day to day inpatient rehabilitation services. This includes utilizing a holistic interdisciplinary approach to coordinate the care of rehabilitation patients to assure a smooth, efficient functioning department and delivery of quality health care services. Acts as the clinical resource for the department. Leadership includes clinical management and staff scheduling, personnel management (orientation, performance evaluations, coaching, and other administrative duties necessary for effective operations. Utilizes Clinical Coordinators as a resource for clinical growth, staffing, and for the coordination/participation in quality improvement activities and audits as necessary, development of new programs and clinical procedures, and collaboration with acute/OP areas to promote department efficiency and customer service and assists manager as necessary to promote effective daily operations. Assist Director with coordination and management of clinical/volunteer/ high school student program. Supports department/leadership alignment and mission/vision of hospital. Assists with personnel management (orientation, staffing/daily schedules, and clinical performance, etc.).
Majority of the responsibilities involves delivery of patient care services: Continuously evaluates, develops a treatment plan and conducts appropriate therapy management to meet the individual needs of medically referred patients in an efficient, productive manner. Maintain accurate, current records on all patients according to the department's policy and procedures. To supervise support staff and other departmental staff as it relates to patient care. To assist with educational programs for departmental and hospital associates and to uphold the standards of the department and hospital by working with patients, visitors, associates and other medical professionals in a respectful, courteous manner.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Bachelors Degree
+ Texas Licensure in Occupational Therapy (OT), or Licensed Physical Therapist
+ Minimum 4 years clinical experience and prefer supervisory experience.
