Panorama's Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center is part of the Panorama Continuing Care Retirement Community. Our community includes Independent Living, an Assisted Living Facility and a Skilled Nursing Home (C&R).

NEW STARTING RATESUnder the direction and supervision of the Director of Food service, the Dietary Aide works in the kitchen assisting in the preparation and service of food and follows a cleaning schedule. The service of food may include the transporting of food trays to the nursing units.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Food Service Aide may be responsible for some and/or all of the following functions some and/or all of the time under the assignment and direction of his/her supervisor.•Prepares and/or assists in preparation of meals, snacks and beverages.•Responsible for or assists in assembling trays, cleaning and storage of supplies and equipment.•Continuously cleans food service work areas as food preparation and service is done.•Labels nourishment and sends or transports them to resident floors.•Transporting trays and carts to or from the resident floors.•Communicates with Director of Food Service or Assistant Director of Food Service throughout shift as needed to best meet needs of residents.•Attendance includes rotating weekends & holidays.

Responsibilities

This position will work in the Food and Nutrition Services Diet Office and will be required to use a desktop computer or take patient meal orders on the units using a tablet to assist patients with making meal selections
• Tray assembly as needed.
• The Healthcare Host role: supports preparation of patient meal trays, deliver meal carts to the correct hospital floors or patient area, serve trays to patients, collect food trays from patient rooms and other patient areas, transport used meal trays to cleanings areas
• The Dietetic Clerk organizes the patient/resident's menus to ensure accuracy of diet order, timeliness of meal service and smooth foodservice operations
• Responsible for the production of meal tickets, nourishment labels and production tallies for resident/patient menus
• Responds to interdepartmental telephone inquiries, maintains all office equipment and supply inventory for nutrition office
• These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
• Prepares dietary information for use by kitchen personnel in preparation of foods for hospital patients
• Tallies quantities of specific foods, such as vegetables and meats, to be prepared in kitchen
• Marks tally on master menu to inform kitchen personnel of food requirements
• Processes new diets and changes as required
• Participates in tray line and food temperature monitoring as assigned
• Communicates patient needs to appropriate staff while maintaining patient confidentiality
• May answer telephone and intercom calls and relay information to kitchen concerning meal changes, complaints, or patient discharge
• May prepare and deliver formula and special nourishments to unit pantries
• May visit and provide assistance with menu selection to patients
• Complies with all policies and procedures
• Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
• Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments
• Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated
