Supervises and coordinates the daily operations and staff of rehabilitation services including the monitoring/administering of patient evaluations and quality of care in accordance with the written and signed prescription and/or referral of a physician or other State authorized practitioner.
Job Responsibility
+ Promotes Rehabilitation Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
+ Leads the activities of assigned Rehabilitation Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
+ Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff.
+ Coordinates patient scheduling.
+ Supervises quality assurance activities and maintains related documentation.
+ Participates in the development of the annual operating budget.
+ Participates in the development and implementation of pertinent policies and procedures.
+ Ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
+ Ensures the operation and maintenance of equipment.

Job Qualification
+ Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Current License to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Registered Occupational Therapist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
+ 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Manager of Rehab Therapy ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the Rehab Therapy team. As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, the Manager coordinates appropriate staffing levels and treatment schedules and monitors the amount/type/qualify of the therapy services provided. The Manager guides the provision of therapeutic care to achieve optimal outcomes and excellence in patient satisfaction. The Manager can also function as a licensed therapist and administer therapy modalities and treatment as prescribed by the licensed physician.
This position will support in-patient and outpatient services for Blue Ridge Regional Hospital as well as the Burnsville Clinic. Some travel will be required between the two facilities.

Required Credentials: Must be currently licensed as a Physical or Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

The Director of Rehabilitation Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the rehabilitation department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. This position is responsible for overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of rehabilitation services while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF.
This role holds 24-hour accountability for department management, team development, quality initiatives, and clinical outcomes. The Director actively collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to drive performance, enhance patient and staff satisfaction, and promote best practices in rehabilitative care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and oversight for all rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology.
Develop and evaluate clinical staff performance and ensure compliance with hospital standards and licensure requirements.
Drive performance improvement initiatives related to core measures, patient safety, and accreditation benchmarks.
Maintain a proactive and supportive dialogue with staff, conducting regular one-on-one and group meetings to address concerns and promote team engagement.

If licensed as an RN, must have Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Masters degree in a healthcare-related field or clinical discipline (e.g., Nursing, Healthcare Management).
Strongly prefer background as a licensed PT, OT, or SLP.
