**Job Description**
**Summary:**
Leads global reliability engineering efforts for Teledyne Controls electronic products, focusing on performance monitoring, failure analysis, and reliability improvement. Oversees MTBUR tracking, root cause investigations, reliability modeling, and reporting. Interfaces with OEMs, airlines, suppliers, and internal teams to drive corrective actions and enhance product dependability.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Reliability Monitoring & Reporting:**
+ Track and analyze Global MTBUR and MTBF metrics across product lines.
+ Generate monthly reliability reports including field return rates, Pareto charts, defect trend analysis, and corrective action status.
+ Maintain dashboards for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and present findings to executive leadership.
+ **Failure Analysis & Corrective Actions:**
+ Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis.
+ Translate repair station findings and customer returns into actionable data.
+ Manage the Failure Review and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and ensure timely resolution of reliability issues.
+ **New Product Reliability Engineering:**
+ Develop and execute reliability plans for new electronic products, including:
+ Reliability block diagrams and predictions (MTBF/MTBUR).
+ Maintainability analysis and SEU (Single Event Upset) assessments.
+ Functional and design-level FMEA.
+ Support Entry-into-Service (EIS) reliability planning and performance tracking.
+ **Customer & Supplier Engagement:**
+ Respond to OEM and airline customer reliability inquiries with detailed analysis and corrective action proposals.
+ Collaborate with suppliers to ensure component-level reliability and effective failure analysis.
+ Conduct reliability reviews and working group meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
+ **Data Management & Escalation:**
+ Manage field returns database and ensure data integrity for trend analysis.
+ Review chronic and "No Fault Found" returns for deeper investigation.
+ Escalate potential quality escapes or systemic issues to senior leadership.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**
Directly manage the Reliability Department Staff: Reliability Engineer(s) and Reliability Data Analyst.
Supervisory responsibilities to be carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

**Education and/or Experience**

+ Must have working knowledge of the Reliability Engineering discipline from a product development through field support activities.
**Computer Skills**

+ Must have functional knowledge of Microsoft Access.
**Other Skills and Abilities**
+ Must lead small teams to solve field related problems.
+ Must communicate concise program status to senior management.

+ General knowledge of Thermal chamber and Vibration equipment is preferred.
+ Ability to focus on microscope objects to distinguish features within the field of view is preferred
+ Working Knowledge of Aerospace / Defense products, avionics industry, systems technologies, regulations, and standards are preferred.
+ Familiarity and working experience with IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD-001 is preferred.
**Other Qualifications**
+ Must be US Person.
+ Must be able to perform reliability engineering functions, such as failure investigation, root cause analysis, generating failure reports, and corrective action replies in an industry regulated by FAA, EASA, and CAAC.
**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and day are Monday through Friday within one hour plus/minus of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position may at times require long hours and weekends or holiday work reflecting workload and deadlines.
**Travel**
Up to 10% of domestic travel as required.
**Salary**
$165K - $75K
**Salary Range:**
141,900.00- 189,200.000

The Marathon El Paso Refinery is seeking a full-time Reliability Manager.
This position supervises the Reliability Engineers (Fixed Equipment, Rotating Equipment, Electrical, Instrumentation/Analyzer, and Corrosion/Metallurgy) who are considered subject matter experts in each of their respective disciplines.
The Reliability Department is responsible for defining the scope of the preventive and predictive maintenance program and tracking its effectiveness. This department is also responsible for assisting in reliability investigations, defining the required training programs, and providing recommendations for improving equipment reliability. Furthermore, the team is responsible for documenting the required information in accordance with the Mechanical Integrity Program.
The Reliability Manager provides the vision and facilitates continuous improvement efforts in support of long-term reliability improvements. They work closely with all departments to achieve common goals focusing on safety, compliance, and reliable operation of the refinery while maximizing the profitability of the site. This position reports directly to the Engineering Director.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Directly supervises Fixed Equipment, Rotating Equipment, Electrical, Instrument/Analyzer, and Corrosion/Metallurgy Engineers.
+ Provides guidance for technical and professional development as well as provides leadership excellence through coaching/mentoring, succession planning, performance management, recognition, and employee engagement processes.
+ Ensures the Reliability department provides technical expertise and field support of needed maintenance repairs.
+ Champions the Mechanical Integrity program, Major Equipment Deficiency (MED) process, and the Inspection, Testing, Preventative Maintenance (IPTM) deferral process.
+ Coordinate the implementation and document the preventive and predictive maintenance requirements by equipment type in accordance with the Mechanical Integrity program.
+ Manages the budget, coordinates the development, and implements the reliability initiatives for the refinery. Maintains compliance with local and corporate specifications (SP's), Refining Standard Practices (RSP's), and Refining Reference Documents (RRD's) and Mechanical Integrity compliance with regulations affecting our area of responsibility.
+ Accountable for the bad actor program, which systematically identifies bad actor equipment, facilitates root cause failure analyses, and provides recommendations and, where appropriate, ensures submittal of Project Request Forms (PRFs) for improvement.
+ Monitors and communicates to the Refinery Leadership Team and Area Teams the site's threat lists to mechanical availability and prioritizes initiatives based on the "Total Cost of Unreliability" list.
+ Ensures the site maintains long-term reliability focus, continuous improvement, and creates/monitors applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
+ Ensures that appropriate turnaround work scope is identified for Fixed, Electrical, Instrumentation/analyzer, and Rotating Equipment.
+ Responsible for asset data integrity management for SAP and GE-APM (formerly Meridium).
Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of refinery or petrochemical Maintenance/Engineering experience. Prior experience in Reliability is preferred. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
+ Ability to work outside in an industrial setting requiring walking, climbing of ladders and wearing of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
+ A valid drivers license is required upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Strong initiative, leadership, collaboration, and strategic / critical thinking skills are essential.
+ Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software. SAP experience is desired.

Reliability Maintenance Manager
Hopewell, VA
The Opportunity:
The Maintenance Reliability Manager at the Hopewell, VA mill will proactively identify and implement maintenance best practices and drive implementation throughout the facility. Primarily responsible for investigating and resolving all reliability issues within the facility. Drives root cause failure analysis process and projects, and actively participates in critical maintenance initiatives across the facility. The Reliability Manger will serve as the Assistant Maintenance Manager for the facility which will prepare the person in this role to be the next Maintenance Manager.
The Reliability Manager will promote and advance the Reliability program across the entire mill. Here are some of the ways this will occur:
* Use equipment failure analysis to identify repetitive maintenance issues and develop and implement solutions that eliminate problems, improve reliability, and reduce maintenance costs.
* Design and execute Reliability Improvement Projects
* Use proactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance techniques to avoid and to detect equipment failures.
* Champion the Maintenance Reliability Program
* Ownership of unscheduled maintenance downtime on root cause failure analysis and developing solutions.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
* Lead the reliability program to continuously improve equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs.
* Work with Engineering to ensure maintenance reliability and equipment access is designed into new projects.
* Be a tireless and enthusiastic champion of reliability.
* Serve as the equipment reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the site.
* Assist the Maintenance Manager in mentoring and leading Reliability Engineers, Planners, and members of the millu2019s overall Maintenance Department.
* Assure predictive and preventive maintenance activities support the millu2019s strategic direction.
* Support the Pressure Vessel and Tank integrity program for the site, including inspection and repairs.
* Lead lubrication and vibration program and optimize the lubrication programs in all process areas.
* Request measuring and testing equipment to keep the reliability programs current with the latest technological advances where those advances provide cost-effective upgrades.
* Manage and report Key Process Indicators (KPIs) detailing all the results of the Work Management and Reliability programs activities on a weekly basis.
* Work closely with purchasing, stores, and engineering to ensure equipment reliability is implemented throughout all project phases including procurement, vendor selection, spare part selection and stocking.
* Develop and adopt standards that improve equipment reliability in areas such as Essential Care, PM, PdM, CM, RCPE, equipment procurement, stocked parts, rebuilds, installation and work execution.
* Continuously work with Maintenance and Operations to educate, promote, and support program buy-in throughout the mill.
* Recommend innovative solutions to increase equipment life and reduce maintenance costs through the analysis of repetitive equipment failures/breakdowns and predictive maintenance analysis.
* Manage the Reliability related Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) process.
* Review and refine the PM process based on breakdown repair costs, down-time requirements, and production losses from individual pieces of equipment.
* Submit recommendations and justification for capital expenditures that support and improve the Reliability Program.
* Submit regular reports covering the overall program costs and benefits, the "finds" and improvements made, as well as the strategic way forward for the Reliability Program.
* Serve as a leader and example for behavior and performance to all employees.
* Resolve mechanical and electrical reliability issues to increase process reliability and decrease cost (mill wide)
* Managing maintenance resources or contractors during outages or project implementation
What you will need to succeed:
* Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering preferred.
* Minimum of 8 years of applicable reliability maintenance experience in heavy industrial manufacturing - paper mill experience a plus.
* Supervisory experience is a plus.
* Strong engineering, analytical and problem-solving skills
