Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will play a crucial role in a dedicated team that provides exceptional care and treatment activities for patients experiencing renal failure. This position involves working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) to ensure our patients receive the best possible care.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Patient Care: Engage directly with patients to deliver safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatments. You will be responsible for gathering patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating and monitoring treatments, terminating treatment, and collecting blood samples in accordance with physician orders.
  • Technician Duties: Uphold quality standards by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, ensuring thorough cleaning and disinfection post-treatment, conducting safety checks on machines, and meticulously logging results for quality control while adhering to established protocols and regulations.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance: Implement appropriate safety measures, including the use of personal protective equipment. In collaboration with the Charge Nurse, consistently follow all company policies, procedures, and legal regulations while participating in staff meetings and ongoing educational opportunities.

What You Should Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A genuine desire to work in healthcare and support patient care.
  • Prior experience in healthcare settings such as dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is advantageous.
  • Comfort with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to procedural guidelines.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, demonstrating competency in the essential theory and practice of hemodialysis within the first 8 weeks of employment.
  • CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire as mandated by state regulations.
  • Obtain and maintain Patient Care Technician certification through an accredited state or national program within 18 months of starting your role; be aware that specific state requirements may apply.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
What qualifications you will need:
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
