This position offers you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the detailed electrical design and project management of utility-scale renewable energy projects. As a Project Manager in our Electric Grid Infrastructure Services business unit you will:
+ Interact with renewable energy developers during the development or project conception phase and support the execution of engineering and design project work.
+ As a Renewable Energy Project Manager, you will take an active role in all aspects of the project, from project conceptualization, work planning, project design and project execution.
+ You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and problem solving a wide variety of challenges related to renewable energy facility designs and integration of new assets with existing infrastructure.
+ You will be responsible for client relationships, mentoring team members, overseeing projects, prepare reports that present technical and project information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats, support interconnection applications and actively support the growth of our renewable energy group.
+ Develop your career via peer-learning through sharing of knowledge with other experienced engineers by way of S&L's systems of process and associated "Communities of Practice."
+ In addition, you may have the opportunity to travel to client sites as needed.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days. Dependent upon your location, this opportunity offers a generous relocation package. S&L is actively expanding our renewable energy teams to our Glendale, AZ and Denver, CO offices.

Essential skills and experience:
+ This position requires a BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
+ A Master's degree in a business (e.g., MBA) or engineering discipline is a plus.
+ 15 or more years of experience in the renewable energy industry.
+ PMP Certification is a plus.
+ Experience with electrical collection system designs.
+ Experience with renewable energy technologies (i.e., wind, solar, battery energy storage, etc.).
+ Experience in electrical grid interconnections (i.e. single line design, permit application, compliance with electrical codes and utility standards, etc.).
+ Experience with detailed design activities associated with renewable energy projects.
+ Experience with owner's engineering activities during renewable energy project execution is a plus.
+ Experience with battery energy storage system designs and/or energy management system designs is a plus.

ERM  is seeking a Principal Consultant, Renewable Energy/Power  overseeing Impact Assessment, Planning and Permitting for renewable energy facilities throughout the Midwest and Heartland, and based in Overland Park, Kansas . This role will lead environmental impact assessment and permitting for various power facilities and other major capital development projects including solar developments, technology infrastructure and energy transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have experience permitting complex development projects in the power and/or technology sector along with technical expertise leading environmental, local, state-level, and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews for large-scale capital projects. 

It is preferred and desired that the candidate has experience developing permits and permitting strategies for renewable projects, particularly to support local land use permitting processes, including securing Conditional or Special Use Permits, identifying requirements or local municipalities and counties (e.g., buffer widths, vegetative screening, water quality monitoring, local storm water review criteria), analyzing the potential for variances, and working with developers to optimize layouts based on local permitting requirements.

As part of ERM’s planning team you will be leading consulting on a range of environmental, social, and health impact assessment projects to build a sustainable business both regionally and nationally, while networking with ERM's global technical teams to share best practices across the industry.

This position will focus primarily on environmental impact assessment and federal, state and local permitting to facilitate the development, construction, and operation of commercial-scale energy facilities and support the low carbon economy transition in the U.S. Our portfolio of projects is often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. The position will require a candidate to work both independently and with teams of subject matter experts, so successful candidate must have the ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while forging a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and perform complex permitting and compliance associated with renewable energy and tech sector development projects with an emphasis on local, state, and federal permitting, including but not limited to compliance associated with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and regulations of federal agencies such as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and state-level agencies.
  • Manage and lead the preparation of permitting documents for energy/industrial facility development, expansion, maintenance, or decommissioning, with a focus on local permitting. Overseeing project delivery activities such as report writing, data collection, data and literature review, and developing recommendations for clients.
  • Manage preparation of discipline-specific reports, permitting documents, NEPA documents, and state-level environmental reviews consistent with applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements. Serve in roles ranging from project manager, task manager, technical expert, and QA/QC of deliverables.
  • Contribute technical, subject matter or project management expertise on permitting strategies, due diligence reviews, environmental critical issues assessments, impact assessment deliverables, and overall quality control review.
  • Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads as well as help to expand our growing renewable projects and team.
  • Manage and work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
  • Collaborate with other ERM practitioners to execute impact assessment and capital project permitting (ERM services broadly include baseline studies, environmental impact assessment, routing studies, land planning, and facility siting & permitting).
  • Expand ERM’s profile and market share through your existing client relationships, building and deepening ERM’s existing relationships, and delivering high quality, and reliable service.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental studies, environmental management, wetland science, planning, geography or related natural resources science field of study; or 8+ year's equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of project management, licensing and permitting experience, including strong project experience in power.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local permitting, in particular with the preparation of applications and documents related to the development of renewable energy projects.
  • Experience assisting clients in obtaining multi-media permits and approvals for new or expanded facilities.
  • Experience overseeing and coordinating desktop and online studies or research on natural resource or resource planning topics, Geographic Information System, map interpretation (National Wetland Inventory, U.S. Geological Survey, aerial photography).
  • Demonstrated ability to research and prepare concise and accurate technical documents including presentation of findings to clients, stakeholders, and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members – excellent people skills, responsive, collaborative, versatile, effective in a fast-paced environment, and service-oriented.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

Position Overview:
The Hudson Clean Heat Applications Engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects utilizing the latest in water source heat pump technology and any other non-carbon based heating and cooling technology. This role requires applied engineering experience in MEP disciplines and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project delivery. The engineer will support the Sales Team in design development, construction documentation, and the Project Management team in the project execution, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications while meeting the project timelines and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design & Engineering Development
    • Prepare detailed design layouts, calculations, and specifications for heat pump, electrical, and plumbing systems.
    • Perform equipment selection and sizing, load calculations, and energy analysis.
    • Review and apply relevant building codes, standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IPC), and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop schematic designs and support design development and construction documents.
  2. Project Coordination
    • Collaborate with the Sales Team on the pre-sale engineering characteristics of projects.
    • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
    • Coordinate MEP systems across project teams to resolve conflicts and design issues.
    • Support the project manager in preparing design packages for client review and approval.
    • Participate in project meetings and communicate engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Construction & Implementation Support
    • Review submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction phase.
    • Together with the Project Manager, conduct site visits and inspections to monitor compliance with design intent and installation quality.
    • Assist in commissioning support and functional performance testing of MEP systems.
  4. Technical Documentation & Reporting
    • Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, basis of design documents, and other project deliverables.
    • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including design revisions and field observations.
    • Participate in value engineering exercises and support lifecycle cost analysis.
  5. Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure that all designs comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Incorporate sustainable design principles and energy efficiency best practices where applicable.
  6. Continuous Improvement & Professional Development
    • Stay current with technological advancements, industry best practices, and code changes in MEP disciplines.
    • Pursue professional development opportunities, including licensure (e.g., PE, LEED AP).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering, or related field.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience in MEP design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and/or similar BIM tools).
  • Familiarity with energy modeling software and calculation tools is .

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Mechanic position is part of a Maintenance Team that supports the paper machine. The position coordinates closely with the paper machine operations teams as customers of the reliability centered maintenance support services the maintenance team is responsible for delivering. The Mechanical Technician position reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent. This is a position in our high performance work system that works a rotating 24 hour, 7 day per week shift schedule. There are both day (Monday through Friday) assignments and shift assignments. It is expected that all of our Mechanical Technician positions will fill both day and shift roles over the course of time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The principal responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic position are to ensure that the processes are maintained in a preventive fashion to ensure optimum reliability and up time. This position troubleshoots processes and has the ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems associated with process equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing malfunctioning equipment such as pumps, transmissions and other components.

Maintenance Mechanic must be able to operate motorized equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, Genie lifts, hoists and cranes. The Mechanical Technician must possess basic to intermediate math skills. Must be able to read and understand blue prints, technical manuals and literature. Must be able to read orders and prepare reports legibly and properly.

The candidate should be able to:
  • Apply safe working practices and understand the principles of preventive and first-line maintenance
  • Correctly diagnose a range of mechanical faults and plan a suitable course of action
  • Understand the principles of power transmission systems; recognize, remove and refit taper-lock bushes, keyed shafts, belts, chains & couplings; install & align shafts; tension drive train components
  • Correctly remove and refit various types of bearings (roller, ball, etc) identify various bearing types, understand their typical applications & recognize common defects
  • Recognize stripped threads and correctly use thread repair equipment
  • Manufacture gaskets and understand how to remove and replace seals and gland packing
  • Understand the operation of various gearboxes, (helical, spur and worm-wheel)
  • Correctly dismantle and replace drive belts
  • Recognize various types of conveyor systems and their main components
  • Identify typical faults and correctly remove, replace and track a conveyor belt
  • Employ the appropriate welding process (MIG, TIG, or Stick, as appropriate)
  • Pipe fitting duties as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
The position is also responsible for the safe use of hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools.

EDUCATION and/or REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Post-secondary educational degree (2 to 4 year degree from college, university, technical school, military, vocational or other advanced educational institution)
  • Computer/Data entry skills.

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Pulp/Paper or Chemical Engineering

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints, P&ID's, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Leading root cause analysis and problem solving teams. Analytical and field troubleshooting skills.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical machinery, including conveyer systems, breakers, boilers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc. Knowledge of computer systems and the ability to learn new complex applications.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. Job Description

**Asset Controller**
The Asset Controller job ensures that investment accounting policies and procedures are correctly applied to financial transactions. Under minimal supervision, this job works directly with asset management, portfolio management and acquisition/disposition teams. This job leads a team to prepare month end closing reports and subsidiary quarterly financial analytics, and reports to senior management ensuring accurate asset evaluations.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
+ Commercial management of a portfolio of renewable assets (photovoltaic, onshore and offshore wind, batteries, hybrid projects, or any other technology that is suitable for investment within the fund's investment scope), either under development, construction or operation, across the US.
+ Management of Commercial and Technical Management Agreement providers. Oversight and enhancement of the asset's performance.
+ Coordination and oversight of different workstreams relating to the asset together with other AM departments (including the Fund Finance Team, the Head of Revenues, technical team, development unit), the Investment Team and the Divestment Teams.
+ Financing of renewable assets, both from a debt as well as tax equity perspective
+ Oversight and coordination of the preparation of the asset's budget (alongside internal and external stakeholders) and ongoing actual versus budget appraisal process (monthly).
+ Update of rolling cash forecasts to identify potential cost overrun or upside, and management of funding of projects in collaboration with the Fund Finance team.
+ Implementing best in class and validating the monthly closures, invoicing, and payment supervision. In the short term, this will be a hands-on role.
+ Management of the distributions to investors from the asset perspective and Management of the financing agreements and compliance with all the corresponding undertakings from the project side.

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Renewable Energy/Power overseeing Impact Assessment, Planning and Permitting for renewable energy facilities throughout the Midwest . This role will manage environmental studies and permitting for various power facilities and other major capital development projects, including solar development, battery energy storage system development, technology infrastructure and energy transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of project management experience in the power and/or technology sector along with technical expertise leading environmental, local, state, and federal level permitting for large-scale capital projects. 

It is preferred and desired that the candidate has experience developing permits and permitting strategies for renewable projects, particularly to support local land use permitting processes, including securing Conditional or Special Use Permits, identifying requirements or local municipalities and counties (e.g., buffer widths, vegetative screening, noise analyses, project design, water quality monitoring, and local storm water review criteria), analyzing the potential for variances, and working with developers to optimize layouts based on local permitting requirements.

As part of ERM’s planning team you will be leading consulting on a range of environmental, social, and health impact assessment projects to build a sustainable business both regionally and nationally, while networking with ERM's global technical teams to share best practices across the industry.

This position will focus primarily on environmental impact assessment and federal, state, and local permitting to facilitate the development, construction, and operation of commercial-scale energy facilities and support the low carbon economy transition in the U.S. Our portfolio of projects is often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. The position will require a candidate to work independently and to lead teams of subject matter experts, so the successful candidate must have the ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while forging a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional looking to advance their career with a global environmental leader and be part of ERM’s continuing growth in the power sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and perform complex local permitting and compliance efforts associated with renewable energy and tech sector development projects.
  • Manage and lead the preparation of permitting documents for energy/industrial facility development, expansion, maintenance, or decommissioning, with a focus on local permitting. Overseeing project delivery activities, such as report writing and review, data collection, data and literature review, and developing recommendations for clients.
  • Manage preparation of discipline-specific reports (e.g., biological, cultural, noise, decommissioning plans, landscape plans, and stakeholder engagement plans), engineering plan sets (up through 30% designs), permitting documents, and state-level environmental reviews consistent with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Serve in roles ranging from project manager, task manager, technical expert, and QA/QC of deliverables.
  • Contribute technical, subject matter or project management expertise on permitting strategies, due diligence reviews, environmental critical issues assessments, impact assessment deliverables, and overall quality control review.
  • Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads, as well as help to expand our growing renewable projects and team.
  • Manage and work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of projects.
  • Interface with clients by leading calls, attending meetings, and providing critical insights to optimize project implementation.
  • Collaborate with other ERM practitioners to execute impact assessment and capital project permitting (ERM services broadly include baseline studies, environmental impact assessment, routing studies, land planning, and facility siting & permitting).
  • Expand ERM’s profile and market share through your existing client relationships, building and deepening ERM’s existing relationships, and delivering high quality, and reliable service.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental studies, environmental management, wetland science, planning, geography, or related natural resources science field of study; or 8+ year's equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of project management, licensing and permitting experience, including strong project experience in power.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local permitting, in particular with the preparation of local permit applications and documents related to the development of renewable energy projects.
  • Experience assisting clients in obtaining multi-media permits and approvals for new or expanded facilities.
  • Experience overseeing and coordinating desktop and online studies or research on natural resource or resource planning topics, Geographic Information System, map interpretation (National Wetland Inventory, U.S. Geological Survey, aerial photography).
  • Demonstrated ability to research and prepare concise and accurate technical documents, including presentation of findings to clients, stakeholders, and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members – excellent people skills, responsive, collaborative, versatile, effective in a fast-paced environment, and service-oriented.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area (25%).

For the Principal Consultant, Renewable Energy/Power (Principal Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $115,500 - $148,700 (USD).  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
