SUMMARY OF JOB
The Renovation Specialist performs skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of mechanical, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing and structural systems related to unit renovations and turnovers. The Renovation Specialist monitors the performance of heating, cooling, and related systems, troubleshoots problems, and makes adjustments, when necessary. In addition, this position performs routine carpentry work to complete renovations and unit turn-overs including cabinetry repair/replacement, painting and flooring repairs. Repairs and performs preventive maintenance on electric bed and nurses’ call. Maintains boiler room and boiler related equipment and emergency generator and related equipment.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

Significant mechanical maintenance experience beyond requirements including competency in one of the mechanical trades may be substituted for the required vocational/technical school or apprenticeship.

The Renovation Specialist works on all assigned tasks and perform work to code and as per BRC standards. Assigned tasks include, but are not limited to, drywall, painting, flooring, plumbing, electrical installation/repair, and HVAC.

Summary:
Responsible for the renovation efforts under the supervision of the VCS Renovation Team Supervisor. The Renovation Specialist will be assigned renovation and small construction projects throughout the various Vincentian facilities. As a Renovation Specialist, this person will be required to complete assigned tasks that will include, but not be limited to all aspects of indoor and outdoor renovation and construction projects. This includes assisting in ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as established policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Installs ceiling grid and acoustical tile using laser and other types of leveling equipment. Uses and understands blueprints, drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions. Recommends to supervisor the method, material, and time necessary to accomplish the task. Demonstrates the proper use of power and hand tools used for demolition and reconstruction projects. Installs fire stopping material and doors in fire and smoke-rated walls and partitions.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Perform minor repairs to pool structures
