Purpose

Electrically troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex production equipment and systems. Job Responsibilities

  • Performs all task under general supervision.
  • Provides training and assistance to less experienced Electricians.
  • Assumes high level ownership during off-shift work periods related to work prioritization, production needs, and safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, adjust, and repair automated machines, process systems, and robotic systems to ensure they are working properly and safely.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
  • Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance).
  • Assists engineers in operating test equipment to obtain performance data on parts and assemblies under varying operating conditions.
  • Collects, compiles and summarizes test data, and reviews results with engineering to resolve problems such as product or equipment issues, malfunctions and incomplete test data.
  • Diagnoses test equipment malfunctions, and services and repairs equipment as required.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and analyze results using testing devices, then repair and replace broken machine components
  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain combustion systems. Responsible for continuing education to keep up with changing technology.
  • Configure, commission, and test new equipment while making sure all maintenance and installations are well-documented, working properly, and operating safely.
  • Document repairs for regulatory purposes.
    Perform bench work in repairing and maintaining production equipment and spare part assemblies. Oversee maintenance contract and service work as assigned.
  • Order and maintain spare parts.
  • Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed.
  • Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Manager, Group Leaders, and coworkers to accomplish the desired result.
  • Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, ability to be on-call and must be able to work weekends, off shifts, and holidays as required.
  • Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices. Assist in procedure/equipment upgrades as necessary.
  • Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
  • Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements that are associated with the performance of this job.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department Manager.
  • May be asked to rotate between Mentor and Euclid facilities based on job training requirements.

Job Requirements

  1. Must have successfully completed an Electrician Apprentice Program, an Associate degree/certificate in Electronics/Electrical Technology, or have equivalent job experience.
  2. Must pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position.
  3. Must have a basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting. Some knowledge of combustion and/or hydraulic systems may be required.
  4. Must have a basic knowledge and experience in relay logic, industrial controls, electronics, and PLCs.
  5. Must have a basic level of knowledge and experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and engineering drawings.
  6. Must have a basic ability to use a computer to communicate with machine control systems and PLCs. Must have a basic ability to diagnose the root cause of a problem, make repairs, and test for proper operation.
  7. Ability to use various measuring devices (multi-meter, oscilloscope, megohmmeter, etc.) Excellent attendance required.
  8. Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
  9. Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision.
  10. Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
  11. May be required to operate basic shop equipment (hoist, forklift, scissor lift, etc.) Be mechanically inclined.

Summary:

Assembly Repair Mechanic are responsible to complete scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties. Duties for the above, but are not restricted to, preventative/predictive maintenance, tearing down rotating assemblies diagnosing failure and writing up report. Assembling machine/ rotating assembly once all parts are fixed back to OEM condition

Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints, drawings, measure for bearing clearance and shaft diameters using inside/outside mics, and Romer Arm.
  • Dismantle machines as needed
  • Move and align machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Utilize hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
  • Operate cranes, and fork lifts
  • Use large bearing puller, torch, and light TIG welding
  • Install machinery; new and existing equipment, mill site if needed
  • Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues

Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma or have a GED equivalent
  • Flexibility to work any shifts to meet mill needs
  • Continue to develop skills to become a multi-skill mechanic (including millwright, welding, and other fields as needed)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions on all types of factory machinery including, Numerically Controlled (NC) and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine tools and controllers, gearboxes, stationary generator sets and machine accessories using various types of test equipment.

  • Develop maintenance procedures when documentation is not available and devise and make tools to facilitate work.

  • Obtain job assignments from data systems, from management or from engineers.

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of machinery tools in an industrial environment OR successful completion of an approved, field-related college/technical school program, a machine repair apprenticeship, military training, or equivalent.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of complex machine tools to meet customers' needs.
+ Ability to read and interpret machine mechanical prints and hydraulic schematics.

  • Assemble mechanical AC & DC motors, gear units and pumps.
  • Diagnose problems and failures of incoming units to ensure the customer’s complaint is resolved.
  • Interpret and apply dimensional measurements.
  • Measure and record electrical data, mechanical fits and clearances.
  • Write up work scopes for all necessary materials in order to complete the repair.
  • Follow all necessary instructions in order to complete the repair.
  • Electrically connect repaired apparatus for test runs.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Organize and maintain personal and shop tools and equipment.
  • Willing and able to work OT as required.

Motor Repair Mechanic Necessary Qualifications include :

  • 2 years' mechanical assembly and disassembly experience.
  • Ability to read mechanical prints and schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Basic knowledge regarding use of a PC.
  • Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter, shop tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists etc.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical theory required.
  • Valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching.
  • You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions.

Pump and Motor Repair Mechanic Responsibilities Include :
