Demonstrate a high degree of expertise on most or all of the systems their group is responsible for, and work independently, with little assistance from a lead person.

Maintain, repair, service, fabricate, and install complex systems and equipment

Work independently on the most difficult assignments in their work group; and give direction, instruction and support to others.

Characteristic Duties

The duties listed under this section are designed to provide a representative sampling of key tasks and/or responsibilities associated with the job. They are not intended to be a complete list of all the duties performed by employees in the classification.

May be called upon to plan, schedule, determine work priorities, and coordinate work with others.

Troubleshoot and make repairs for unusually complex tasks; provide expert practical knowledge on installations and implement comprehensive solutions to resolve problems. Inspect, service, and repair heavy material handling equipment including the most complicated mobile and overhead cranes that range up to 100 tons in capacity.

In addition to the qualifications listed at the Maintenance Mechanic level, the work of the Specialist requires a high degree of skill in the use of a wide variety of tools and equipment, including specialized tools and expert practical knowledge of all of the equipment and processes for which the group is responsible.

Ability to work independently on most assignments.

Physical Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license.

Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach/work above shoulder, use fine grasping, operate hand and/or foot controls, lift/carry/push/pull objects weighing up to 10 lbs., 11-20 lbs.

Occasionally perform seated work, kneel/ crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds or other), grasp forcefully, perform desk based task, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects weighing 21-40 lbs., 50 lbs.

Rarely write by hand, sort or file

paperwork or parts, scrub, sweep, mop, chop, mix

Maintain the highly complex braking system on the overhead cranes (up to 100 tons).

Responsible for all phases of a repair operation from identifying and diagnosing problems to completely rebuilding and testing.

Modify existing equipment, or other items in exceptionally difficult situations that require a high degree of understanding of the processes involved with the ability to solve problems in nonstandard ways.

Fabricate and install equipment or other items requiring new or unusual skills and procedures; and develop new methods or procedures for carrying out assignments and improving equipment.

Research and locate required parts as necessary.

Provide instruction and training to other employees in their work group.

May perform any of the duties described in the Maintenance Mechanic Specialist specification or other duties as assigned.

Adhere to safety rules.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

This skill level is generally associated with a minimum of five years of experience in the trade or Journeyman level or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications

This position supports the CNS facilities team by overseeing reservable spaces, assisting with small-scale facilities projects, and supervising facilities student workforce.

Lead operations and user support for reservable and communal college spaces (conference rooms, event spaces, etc.). Manage the college's reservation system and serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries related to space use. Inspect spaces regularly for cleanliness and condition; coordinate with facility managers on maintenance needs and follow-ups.

Assist in the execution of small facilities projects, including: Documenting space quality and physical dimensions. Coordinating with clients, vendors, and contractors to fulfill project scopes involving flooring, painting, and furnishings. Supporting larger facilities initiatives led by other CNS staff.

Contribute to the completion of business-related tasks within CNS facilities team, such as: Facilitating procurement processes and tracking purchasing requests and purchase orders. Maintaining financial tracking spreadsheets for CNS facilities accounts. Analyzing and reporting on facilities data, including space audits, utilization trends, and resource planning.

Supervise the CNS student workforce: Manage student schedules and coordinate assignments from other facilities team members. Ensure quality and timely completion of student-led tasks.

Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, technology, construction, management, or related field with four years of relevant experience. Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility in project management. Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively. **Summary:**
We are looking for a skilled backend developer to join our team, whose mission is to develop custom infrastructure in close collaboration with researchers and engineering team in order to support bleeding edge AI, haptics research, and broad-coverage models of human perception and perceptually-driven outcomes. We are specifically looking for someone interested in collaborating with scientists and building scalable and robust services. More broadly, you will work with a highly diverse and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
**Required Skills:**
Software Engineer, Research Infrastructure (University Grad) Responsibilities:
1. Build reliable and reusable software tools and libraries to accelerate research and integration programs
2. Develop custom ML compute infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Python, as well as a variety of Meta-specific technologies
3. Simplify access to best practices in software and machine learning
**Minimum Qualifications:**

4. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
5. Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages
6. Experience working in a source-controlled environment or in scalable systems
7. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

**Public Compensation:**
$56.25/hour to $137,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
