Job Summary
The Research Nurse is responsible for mentoring, leading, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing and interdisciplinary research, quality improvement (QI) and evidence based practice (EBP) projects. Attends monthly Professional Nursing Governance Research and EBP Subcouncil meetings. Works collaboratively with the library and research administration resources at NGHS. Supports and guides nurses in publication of articles, studies and projects. Assist with abstracts, posters and presentations. Teaches classes related to the research, QI and EBP Process.
Minimum Job Qualifications
* Licensure or other certifications: Current GA RN License. Current CITI training
* Educational Requirements: Master of Science in Nursing and PhD
* Minimum Experience: Has been a PI or Co-PI on at least one research study. Experience with implementing EBP, QI and research studies. Has published at least one article in a peer reviewed journal. Expertise in using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SPSS and Envivo.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
* Mentors nursing staff and students in Research, QI and EBP projects.
* Collects study data, assists in developing data collection tools, study materials, communication and performs departmental in-services

* Consults with the Executive Director Nursing Excellence & Research and Research Administration staff regarding the study implementation and IRB application process
* Study/Project Initiation:
* Plan, organize, implement studies and projects to effectively meet goals and ensure timely completion.
* Manage and communicate effectively with Executive Director Nursing Excellence & Research regarding proposed projects for feasibility, including, analyzing scope of work, cost and responding to inquiries and/or complaints
* Reviews protocols for potential operational issues and makes recommendations, as needed
* Creates informed consents
* Submits protocol, informed consents and necessary documents to Institutional Review Board (IRB) for approvals; communicate with IRB on a regular schedule if applicable
* Communicates with Executive Director Nursing Excellence & Research regarding study initiation needs.
* Develop study specific materials, e.g., tracking logs, templates, monitoring tools, source documents, study binders, process manuals.
* Prepare study reports, e.g., modification, amendments, Investigational New Drug (IND) reports, etc.
* Perform yearly review of studies, completing yearly documents required by sponsor, IRB and FDA.
* Work with the key functional departments to coordinate the project-related activities to meet project goals and milestones, based on the study design.
* Ensure the statistical analysis plan is complete, if applicable.
* Ensure information is available for final study report completion.
* Communicate with Research Manager regarding resource needs and issues, e.g., supplies, equipment, etc.
* Study Completion:
* Complete study close out procedures.
* Submit closeout documents to sponsor and IRB.
* Compose year end status report for Research Manager and research staff.
* Return study product, if applicable.
* Submit yearly post study documents, as required.
* Ensure study material are stored and maintained for appropriate time line.
* Administration:
* Demonstrate ability to prioritize multiple projects.
* Proven ability to independently resolve problems.
* Requires strong attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, scheduling and meeting deadlines.

Job Description
GTRI's Cooperative Education ("co-op") program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state-of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. The program allows you to alternate three semesters of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school.
Georgia Tech Research Institute's Research IT Department (RITD) is currently seeking highly motivated students to join our IT Operations Team and to assist with research project work throughout the Information and Communications Laboratory (ICL). We are seeking co-op students looking for employment in the Spring term (starting January 2026). Students will work with experienced professionals in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise class computer systems, networks, and related infrastructure in a multi-tiered, distributed environment. Students will support and educate users in the operation of computer systems and will facilitate the diagnosis and repair of computer and network issues. Students will gain experience installing and maintaining enterprise applications including Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, MS System Center, Jira, JAMF, and numerous other enterprise applications. Students will gain programming and technical experience improving, integrating, and deploying highly available and secure network services.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- A CS, CMPE, EE, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related major with a strong preference for working with computers and networks.
- Experience with computer operation and basic client PC troubleshooting in a Microsoft environment
- Familiarity with office applications including MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications and tools.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Compute Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Information Technology
- 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Must be eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university during work terms
- Must be able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms (alternating three terms of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school) prior to graduation
- Experience with Linux or Mac operating systems
- Ability to program software using C++, C, C#, Java, or other programming languages
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Javascript, PHP, or other scripting languages
- Familiarity with Windows Server OS and server technologies including: Group Policy, OS/Software Deployment, Exchange, SQL Server, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft System Center, IIS, Apache
- Familiarity with network appliances and hardware including NAS/SAN devices, routers, network switches, and firewalls
