Position Summary
This position will work under the general supervision of the Office of School Safety Resource Center Manager to and the provide students with immediate, accessible confidential adult support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position supports the Office of School Safety (OSS), Wisconsin Department of Justice and its commitment to serving our school partners statewide.
The duties include evaluating and assessing all incoming school threats and information requests; communicating via telephone, computer, e-mail and web-application; provision of technical assistance on threat evaluation and the R ecords M anagement S ystems (RMS); dissemination of resources, materials, training, and/or emergency assistance depending on the context. The scope and complexity of work includes responding to a wide range of requests from diverse stakeholders such as school staff, children, parents, law enforcement, and community partners. This position will exercise independent judgment and decision-making when responding to requests for assistance based on training, knowledge, experience, and written protocols.
The OSS Resource Center is a statewide resource for schools, law enforcement agencies and communities that is focused on optimizing school safety and preventing violence in all Wisconsin schools. Our nationally respected practices include our reporting tipline, SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT Wisconsin (SUSO); Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management protocols, training, consultation and support; Crisis Response and Recovery support for any school impacted by a crisis event; and school safety best practice guidance to schools as they meaningfully comply with their Wis. Stat. § 118.07 required school safety submissions and grant management. The OSS Resource Center serves as an entry point to access these services and supports. These OSS initiatives prioritize prevention, protection, early intervention, harm mitigation, and recovery strategies.

Salary Information
The Program and Policy Analyst position is in pay schedule 07 and pay range 04. The starting pay will be between $23 - $27.50/hr. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period may be required.
Job Details
This position will also have on-call responsibility during nights and weekends, based on a rotation with other staff, or as needed to ensure the School Safety Resource Center is operational on a 24/7/365 basis.
This position may be required to report to the assigned headquarters as needed. Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement. Must be eligible to drive when required for travel.
The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting to fill a Steamfitter position.
This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to meet the institution operational needs.

Position Summary
As the Steamfitter, you will perform troubleshooting, construction, rebuilding, and repair work to the HVAC, refrigeration, chiller, and steam systems of WRC, Wisconsin Women's Resource Center and Winnebago Mental Health Institution at the journeyman skill level. Additional duties include:
- Assisting engineering in designing projects,
- Procuring materials,
- Maintaining inventory,
- Fabricating repair parts,
- Rebuilding valves and traps, and
- Assisting with training facility maintenance staff and helpers in procedures to maintain a safe, secure, and productive work environment.
Salary Information
The starting pay is between 46.72 and 48.24 per hour, depending upon leave time selected, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
The pay schedule/range is 04-00. This position is represented by the Wisconsin State Building Trades bargaining unit.
Job Details
This position requires the ability to drive a State vehicle. In order to become authorized to drive a State vehicle, you must meet the requirements for the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle policy, which are:
- Must have a valid driver's license;
- Must have minimum of two years licensed driving experience;
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past two years;
- Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) citation within the past 12 months;
- Suspension or revocation of driver's license.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility within 30 days of the start date.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have the following:
- Possession of a current Journey level Steamfitter Certification.
- Possession of and ability to maintain a valid driver's license and meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy** to drive a state vehicle.
- Experience installing or maintaining steam distribution, hydronic heating systems and related components.
- Experience installing or maintaining commercial air conditioning or refrigeration systems.
- Possession of Universal Refrigeration Certification.
- Experience maintaining or retrofitting pneumatic controllers, valves, and actuators on HVAC systems.
- Experience working with direct digital control systems to control HVAC building systems.
- Experience reading building and system drawings to estimate plan projects.

The Science Resource Center program manager is instrumental in supporting student success by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where students are empowered to become independent learners through individualized academic support. The program manager also supports tutors by offering guidance and professional development opportunities.
Reporting to the science tutoring coordinator with a "dotted line" reporting relationship to the Learning Center director, specific activities include recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and mentoring 10 to 15 peer and/or professional science tutors; utilizing tutor scheduling software (WC Online); and contributing to program-wide initiatives as a member of the Learning Center core team. Although the primary responsibilities of the role are administrative, the program manager may periodically tutor students in science.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, health sciences, or a related discipline, experience as a tutor and experience working in higher education or another academic setting, knowledge of tutoring and/or teaching pedagogy, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to learn new technologies, and an enthusiastic commitment to lifelong learning and supporting the growth and success of all students and staff are required.
