Job Title: Pulmonary Care Specialist

Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill, non-critical, and chronically ill adults, children, and newborns under physician guidance with minimal supervision.

• Meet OneCHRISTUS Competencies expectations for Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders, including emergency response, airway management, and delivery of aerosolized medications.
• Perform ventilator management, oral hygiene, and airway support device management, including BiPAP and CPAP devices.
• Deliver oxygen therapy, analyze chest films, collect blood gases, and perform EKG analysis.
• Accurately document patient care and maintain equipment and supplies as needed.
• Participate in CAP and JC surveys.

Advanced Practice Skills:

• Therapeutic gas management and monitoring.
• Pulmonary Function Testing.
• Bronchoscopy assist.
• Hemodynamic Monitoring.
• Nocturnal SpO2 evaluation.
• Polysomnography.
• Transport duties.

Requirements:

• Licenses: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) License or Registered Clinical Perfusionist (RCP) License in the state of employment required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Experience: 1-3 years preferred.

Schedule:

Per Diem As Needed (7am-7pm). Work days will vary.

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering all forms of respiratory care, both critical and general therapy, and directing and managing the respiratory and pulmonary care for a designated group of patients. You will work closely with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.

• Conducts diagnostic evaluation, management, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
• Provides respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians according to established standards and practices.
• Performs pulmonary function testing and maintains adequate stock of equipment.
• Trains other staff members in issues relevant to respiratory therapy.

• Associate's Degree from an RRT program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist NBRC - State of Pennsylvania certification upon hire.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications also required upon hire.

Qualifications:

• A Certified RT.
• Long-term care facility experience desired.
