Job Description:

This McDonald's is Owned and Operated by 4 Gen Restaurants

As a Maintenance person in our restaurant, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the store. Daily tasks include filtering the oil vats, organizing the stock room, as well as cleaning the stainless, walls, ceilings, bathrooms, and walk-in cooler. Normal maintenance shifts are from 5AM-1PM. They can very slightly depending on your needs, but generally they are morning shifts only. No prior training is necessary as long as you are willing to learn and have a strong work ethic.

We have been operating McDonald's Restaurants for over 60 years, spanning 4 generations. We pride ourselves on promoting from within and developing our employees.

Our Maintenance positions are split into three tiers.

Secondary Maintenance- Starting at $5.50

  • This position is a part time maintenance person. They must do maintenance at least one day per week. The other days they can be in a crew position

Primary Maintenance- Starting at 16.50

  • This is the main maintenance employee at the location. They must be full time maintenance, fully trained and certified by the General Manager

Maintenance Manager- Starting at 19.00

  • To qualify for Maintenance Manager, you must be full time, take care of cleanliness of whole store with little or no follow up, and follow up on other maintenance people. You report to the General Manager and Supervisors. They must also be willing to transfer to any of our locations. These include Oak Forest, Tinley Park, Frankfort, Monee, New Lenox, and Wilmington.

? Conducts period inventory
? Maintains records to comply with ARAMARK, government and accrediting agency standards
? Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels with client organization
? May participate in sales process and negotiation of contracts
? Looks for opportunities to implement new products and services which support sales growth and client retention

? Manage the front of the house of the dining operation (Cafeteria/ Residential Dining Facility)

Function / Position Summary
Responsible for all duties related to the preparation and serving of student meals and snacks (daily). Adheres to the National Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack Programs guidelines and requirements in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Provides excellent customer service to all. Attend monthly Safety meeting, required trainings and in-service meetings. May be required to leave the main work site on occasion for meetings, etc.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the proper handling and storage of all food and supplies.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workspace, in the kitchen area.
  • Maintains a required system of accountability.
  • Prepares weekly projections to order food and supplies for menus.
  • Utilizes correct measuring and serving utensils to ensure accurate meal portioning as specified by district policy.
  • Performs and documents temperature/sanitation checks as required by law.
  • Ensures dishwashing is always ongoing/completed to meet sanitation expectations.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, make change accurately, balance and close in a timely matter (when assigned).
  • Exemplify leadership attitude ensuring that all meals are served in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently all positions in the kitchen.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid Certified Professional Food Manager Certification, previously known as sanitation certificate. Certificate shall be obtained by the start of the second school term of employment.
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.

Experience / Knowledge
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Hold a State of Illinois Food Handler card and demonstrate specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job which includes. If Certification is not current, must be able to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Minimum of one (1) years' experience cashiering, customer service, cafeteria line server or related field, preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete required written documentation.
  • Ability to verbally communicate.
  • Responsible for checking and responding to work related emails in a timely manner.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to assist in lifting 50 lbs. with proper technique.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must wear appropriate, clean uniforms, hair covering, and safety shoes provided.
  • Ability to work in very hot and very cold conditions.

Terms of Employment
  • This is a ten (10) month, part-time SEIU position. Salary and benefits as per the current collective bargaining agreement and approved by the Board of Education.
  • Must be able to adhere to all Blackout dates according to the Food and Nutrition Calendar.
  • Must complete all FNS and District mandated GCN tutorials, monthly safety training, and department sponsored training per USDA requirements by their due date.
  • May be asked to come in two days before school starts to open kitchen.
  • May be asked to come in one day after school ends to close kitchen.
  • Maintain a positive attendance record as specified in FNS Department Handbook & SEIU contract.
Attend all back to school and professional development meetings/trainings as required
