Épicerie Boulud is hiring a full time Cashier/Barista/Retail Specialist . Must have weekend availability as well as be able to work the Friday closing shift.
Épicerie Boulud is Chef Daniel’s eat-in/take-out casual market that offers fresh baked breads and a selection of artisanal cheeses alongside homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, cookies, pastries, and more. The Épicerie is an all-day market serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner items as well as beer and wine.
The Retail Specialist position will at different times be responsible for working the cashier, preparing coffee & tea orders, taking orders and preparing sandwiches and other hot food orders, all while ensuring an excellent guest experience and maintaining store cleanliness.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume environment and has prior retail, barista and/or food service experience. He/She should always exemplify the highest standards of excellence in hospitality, cleanliness, and guest service.

Job Description
As a retail specialist at Hani's Bakery + Café, you will facilitate the guest experience and provide extraordinary customer service. You will greet guests, ring up customer orders, handle monetary transactions, prepare beverages, and assist in retail sales. In addition to having full knowledge of the menu and products, candidates will be team-oriented and preferably have some prior retail, cashier, or barista experience in a similar retail establishment.
The job expectations:
- Cultivate excellent hospitality in a welcoming environment for all our guests, both for in-store and digital orders, ensuring that their experience leaves them raving both during and after their visit or order.
- Acknowledge and positively engage all guests at the counter while managing their expectations. Maintain a warm, welcoming demeanor when interacting with guests.
- Exhibit expert knowledge and understanding of all menu items and how each is properly served and/or packaged.
- Possess a passion for coffee and tea beverages and the ability to prepare basic espresso beverages and latte art.
- Maintain excellent organization and store cleanliness.
- Maintain an orderly and neat work area to promote food quality and reduce waste. Follow all directions, portioning, proper storage, and product FIFO.
- Ensure DOH compliance as it pertains to the FOH operation.
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with all teams throughout the day and during service.

- An experince working as a retail specialist or barista in a similar environment
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs of weight
- Problem-solving and curious Intelligence to continue learning in the position
- Able to accommodate a flexible schedule

- English fluency and Spanish are preferred

The Retail Specialist is responsible for working with our largest existing customers and prospects, to manage, organize and facilitate the execution of their product and business needs, and in developing new business opportunities and driving revenue.
What you'll do:
- Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your retail customers

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Manage time and deadlines for new installs to ensure everything is executed prior to kick off.
