Basic Job Functions:
An experienced Risk Consultant is expected to conduct a specified number of inspections each month at a high level of proficiency and with less managerial oversight. This role requires balancing productivity with adherence to time service and product quality measurements. The role serves as an experienced technical resource for our underwriting team on a variety of personal security, loss prevention and collections management issues. This expertise is conveyed to our policyholders and agents on-site and through successful execution of our consultative risk engineering and personalized reporting after each visit.
Core Responsibilities:
The core responsibilities of the experienced Risk Consultant role are to provide accurate replacement costs, analyze risk acceptability, make clear and feasible recommendations, and market the Chubb differences to our PRS clients. In this role, you are to help acquire and retain quality accounts that contribute to the division's profitability. Primary focus of the role is on the following:
- Conduct in home inspections at higher value levels to determine accurate replacement costs, analyze risk acceptability, identify potential loss producing problems and identify reasonable loss mitigating solutions
- Create risk inspection reports for use by underwriters, agents, and clients
- Be proficient at articulating Chubb's competitive advantages to clients and identify the need for additional insurance coverage based on the client's possessions and lifestyle
- Cultivate relationships with clients to learn more about their needs, as well as to effectively market Chubb products and to promote the inspection process as a demonstration of Chubb's commitment to superior service
- Provide timely and flexible calendar availability in collaboration with scheduling coordinators to meet client service requirements
- Understand risk characteristics inherent in the territory and assist in training of less experienced team members through joint travel and report reviews
- Willingness to participate and deliver results on special projects/initiatives while continuing to meet performance goals
- Actively participates in team meetings and educational opportunities
- Travel on as needed basis including occasional overnight travel
- Must live within a 50-mile radius of where majority of field work is conducted

The core objective of Business Risk Consulting (BRC) is to enhance FM relationships with clients, improving client senior and executive management's awareness of the resilience of key business drivers through a quantitative analysis, ultimately increasing client retention and gaining new business. Provide business risk consulting services to current and potential FM; this includes regularly meeting and presenting to senior client management to develop a sound understanding of the client's business model, critical processes and profit drivers - with a view to analyzing and mitigating the risks faced by these aspects of client operations.
Responsibilities include:
+ Provide general risk advisory, business impact analyses, ERM, business continuity management support, financial risk support services, insured values quantification and training to FM clients.
+ Conduct financial modelling and analysis to quantify the financial impact of disruption-related risks to client operations.
+ Elevate the clients' awareness of their critical business risks and exposures and providing business-focused resilience strategies.
+ Solve our client's property-related risk management issues. Create opportunities for client services teams to access our client's senior and executive management and reinforce our position as a strategic partner to our clients.
+ Provide internally focused insurable value reporting and exposure projects, and other financial support services to FM client service teams. Including, regular interaction with account managers, account engineers and FM operations and division management.

+ A bachelor degree in Business, Accounting and/or Finance from a recognized university (CPA and/or MBA preferred).
+ 4 to 8+ years experience in a consulting environment (risk consulting or other such professional services advisory preferred). Consulting experience to external clients preferred, but internal consulting candidates considered.
+ Bilingual fluency, Spanish proficiency highly preferred.
+ Strong ability to understand our clients' business models and produce strategic, quantitative analysis. Financial modelling experience preferred.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills (strong presentation, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills crucial).

The hiring range for this position is $117,280-$168,600 annually. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience. The Opportunity
As a member of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization at MassMutual, you will partner with various business areas to conduct independent model validations for a wide variety of models, integral to critical business decision making, product pricing, financial reporting, risk mitigation activities and business processes.
The Team
The Model Validations team is comprised of seasoned professionals with expertise in actuarial, financial, risk, investment and capital markets models, who are also building knowledge in emerging areas of importance, such as data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence. The team conducts independent validations on a wide variety of models to ensure the company’s models are conceptually sound and performing as expected.

Specific expectations from this role:
Build relationships, influence, collaborate and learn various aspects of our business from many modelers, data-scientists, actuaries and business leaders at MassMutual.
As a risk advisor, participate in the design, development and implementation of new models
Conduct model validations in accordance with corporate model governance policy requirements and timelines, leveraging deep modeling, asset pricing, actuarial and regulatory expertise.
Assess model design, theoretical construction, methodology, applicability, and resilience within evolving economic and risk environments, in accordance with corporate, actuarial and/or regulatory standards.
Validate accuracy of model calculations, algorithms, and any embedded automation / programming code base.
Design and implement tests to ensure model performance and model output are as expected.
Prepare and distribute model validation documentation, which meets model governance requirements.
Test remediation of validation findings.
Continuously research and provide guidance on the use of new and innovative analytical techniques.
The Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline
5+ years of direct experience in one of the following:
Capital markets and/ or investment risk
Quantitative asset pricing models
Liability hedging strategies
Statistical methods of analysis
3+ Microsoft Excel, Access, and VBA
3+ experience with Python
The Ideal Qualifications
Possess one or more of the following designations
Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA)
Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA)
Charter Financial Analyst (CFA)
Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF)
Financial Risk Manager (FRM)
7+ years of direct experience in one of the following:
Capital markets and investment risk
Quantitative asset pricing models
Insurance liability hedging strategies
Statistical methods of analysis
ALM and annuity product pricing experience
Knowledge of commercial software, including Prophet, GGY AXIS and Moody's asset models
Strong statistical, risk, analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills
Ability to see the big picture with meticulous attention to detail
