Provides leadership and coordination of unit staffing while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contributes to or performs performance evaluations of staff.
+ Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
+ Collaborates with advanced practice providers to ensure quality outcomes.
+ Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
+ Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
+ May provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing and evaluating staff.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
+ Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
EXPERIENCE
+ One year of registered nurse experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
+ Constant standing and walking.

A fellowship-trained, board-certified Critical Care/Trauma Physician providing locum coverage for trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and ICU/critical care at a busy Level I Trauma Center. The role involves managing a high volume of trauma activations and emergency visits in a large non-profit community hospital. The physician is expected to work scheduled clinical hours and call shifts using the Epic EMR system in a fast-paced, acute care environment.

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is in need of locum providers as soon as possible to help cover all trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and ICU / Critical Care surgery (Day shifts and night shifts).
We need the coverage for 1-2 additional FTEs, whether that be two people or multiple candidates who can fill the shifts.
It is a very busy service line with almost 2,000 trauma activations annually. This person will need to be fellowship trained and BC in surgical critical care.
Only Level I Trauma Center in St. Louis County, with over 90,000 emergency visits and 1,800 trauma activations annually
