Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients with neurological conditions , tracking changes in consciousness, motor function, and cognition
- Provide care for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injuries, and neurosurgery
- Administer IV medications, anticoagulants, seizure medications, and pain management therapies
- Recognize and respond to neurological emergencies, including seizures, increased intracranial pressure (ICP), and autonomic dysreflexia
- Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans
- Perform and document neurological assessments, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) evaluations, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) assessments
- Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, rehabilitation goals, and post-discharge care
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies
Qualifications
