Job Description

WSP is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week), **Roadside Assistance Driver** in **Aurora, CO** .
The Roadside Assistance Driver provides roadside assistance to stranded motorists, including tire changes, battery jumps, filling overheated radiators, providing gasoline, etc., and keeping the E-470 Beltway free of minor road hazards and trash. Roadside Assistance Drivers will also perform emergency traffic control at incident scenes by using cones, flares, or an RA vehicle to temporarily close travel lanes, entrance and exit ramps, or the entire road. Roadside Assistance will also pick up trash and debris on the roadside when weather permits.
**Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday 2pm - 10pm Off Monday and Tuesday**
+ Additional hours may be available to cover days off, vacations, business need, etc.
+ May be reassigned on a long term or temporary basis to another location, other shifts, or other schedules, to balance manpower or meet the needs of the company.
**Expected hourly rate is: $24.29 per hour**
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
+ Assist with the removal of roadway hazards, roadway debris, roadside litter, and roadside debris by walking the road right of way and collecting litter, trash, and debris then depositing into plastic bags. These bags will then be loaded into a vehicle and transported to a central collection point and deposited into dumpsters. Animal carcass removal may be required - large animals must be removed from travel lanes where a vendor service will collect the animal carcass. Small animal carcasses will be relocated to unpaved areas of the roadside.
+ Safely, carefully, and professionally performing all emergency roadside services, including but not limited to: using a jack to safely lift a motor vehicle; changing a tire, filling a tire with air, jump-starting a battery, filling a gas tank with a small amount of gasoline or diesel fuel, filling coolant reservoirs, adding additional oil to an engine, using deicer or washer fluid to clean or unfreeze windshields, securing cargo loads, and assisting other minor mechanical issues.
+ Operate a motor vehicle to respond to service calls quickly and safely while complying with applicable state and federal laws.
+ Respond to crashes and incidents occurring on the tollway and providing temporary traffic control measures while assisting police, fire, EMS, and towing personnel when necessary. These include placing road cones and/or LED flares in live travel lanes, using the Roadside Assistance truck as a traffic control apparatus, sweeping debris out of travel lanes, placing quickdry for fluid spills, using push bumpers to move inoperable vehicles out of travel lanes, or pulling a vehicle using a tow rope.
+ Patrol toll plazas and maintenance sites to ensure security measures are in place and there are no active issues such as fires or burst water pipes.
+ Assist with transporting inter-office mail and other supplies as needed.
+ Perform clerical duties such as record keeping of daily vehicle inspection reports, incident reports, reviewing and responding to email messages, and complete required online and in person training courses.
+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned by a Supervisor or Manager.
+ Meet or exceed performance criteria established for the position including response time targets, litter removal or plaza security checks (dependent on shift), customer survey responses, safety standards, and vehicle cleanliness.
+ Maintain compliance with all company and client policies and procedures
+ Requires a minimum of one year of general work experience, preferably in an outdoor environment.
+ High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
+ Knowledge of car care and maintenance procedures and the ability to use equipment such as hydraulic jacks, booster cables, impact wrenches, air compressors and general tool sets preferred.
+ Experience with Traffic Incident Management, traffic control, traffic management, or incident management as well as associated training for any of those items is a plus.
+ Must possess a valid State of Colorado Driver's License and have a clean driving record.
+ National Incident Management System 100, 200, 700 Certifications are a plus.
+ Federal Highway Administration SHRP2/National TIM Responder Training certification is a plus.
+ Hazardous Material awareness or responder training and/or certification is a plus.
+ Must be able to communicate proficiently in English. Ability to speak other languages is a plus; Spanish is the second-most frequently encountered language.
+ Ability to react quickly, remain calm, and make decisions using good judgment based on training and standard operating procedures in emergency and non-emergency situations is a must. These qualities must often be shown while working in an outdoor environment that may include inclement weather conditions and heavy volumes of high-speed traffic.
+ Must be able to discern dangerous situations and avoid being struck by high-speed traffic which will be operating within 10' of work areas.
+ Must be able to perform constant physical labor including stooping, crouching, bending, lifting, twisting, etc. while outdoors in all weather conditions for full shift.
+ Must be able to spend long durations sitting in a vehicle seat.
+ Must be able to carry heavy objects such as hydraulic jacks and be able to run to avoid errant vehicles or to remove debris from the travel lanes.
+ Must be able to communicate and operate a cellphone.
+ Ability to work a variety of shifts as assigned, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Due to the nature of the position may require short notice overtime work. Due to the demands of this position outstanding attendance is required.
+ Maintain a clean, professional appearance and a friendly demeanor.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as emails, schedules, and procedure manuals.
+ Background screening and drug screening required for all candidates upon conditional offer of employment
+ Ability to achieve and maintain departmental performance standards.
+ Must wear ANSI Class III safety attire while working. Class III uniform shirts, jackets, rain/snow jackets, black pants, summer hats, winter hats, snake gaiters, work gloves, winter work gloves, high-vis balaclavas (face covering for cold weather, rain/snow pants, and ice cleats are provided. Employees must use their own undershirts, socks, and boots.
+ Initial safety and job training is required upon completion of onboarding.
+ Yearly re-certification exams are required, with a minimum passing score of 85% for a Level 1 Driver.
+ Yearly refresher training at the CDOT Traffic Incident Management track is required and furnished by WSP.
**Physical Requirements**

**Job Summary:**
Responsible for the set up and successful execution of road call service requests for Emergency Roadside Assistance which includes the TA / Petro, and Connect Provider repair networks. Individual is responsible for set up of the repair. Extensive phone and computer duties. Post holder interacts with fleet customers, drivers, field personnel (technicians, TSA's, and Shop Managers), and TAHQ staff. In addition to correct set up, the individual inputs all pertinent road call information into the Truck Service System and Emergency Roadside Assistance Tracking Database.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Ability to interface with customers/partners/TA/Petro field personnel/TAHQ personnel as necessary to successfully execute all road calls.
+ Ability to work in a team environment. Road call business is not ratable. Must be willing to support and assist in overload work situations. This includes being flexible on breaks and lunch.
+ Must be open to flexible working hours. Emergency Roadside Assistance Connect Center is a 24/7 operation. Individual must be willing to work holidays, weekends and cover for vacation/sick time as required.
+ Understands and achieves stated EBITDA and Emergency Roadside Assistance Connect Center targets.
+ Ability to accurately diagnose tractor/trailer breakdowns and to understand industry specific terminology.
+ Ability to identify correct part/tool requirements for all road calls and to review inventory levels at site to determine if required service parts are available.
+ Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette.
+ Demonstrates proven ability to work with all repair locations to affect the best roll time possible. This includes successfully demonstrating strong decision making ability to utilize all network options and at site options to meet customer commitments and execute the repair.
+ Handle calls in a timely and efficient manner. Must be able to perform to call standards established for Emergency Roadside Assistance Dispatch Agent I, including executing guidelines for time of dispatch, time of technician arrival and completion time.
+ Maintains high level of understanding of all applicable policies and programs related to TA/Petro, Emergency Roadside Assistance, Shop Operations and Emergency Roadside Assistance Connect Center.
+ Actively participates in all required training and successfully tests out on all training.
+ Seeks training opportunities to improve personal performance capacity and effectiveness.
+ Maintains proficiency on all applicable software/database programs and Truck Service System **.**
**Qualifications:**
**Education:**
High School degree required. Technical College preferred.
**Experience:**
+ Two-year equivalent relevant business experience, preferably in a shop environment.
+ Technical aptitude sufficient to correctly diagnose tractor and/or trailer breakdowns with Class 8 vehicles.
+ PC proficiency with emphasis on Windows-based Excel, TA Intranet, Shop System and Tracking Database.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong people skills required to function effectively in a customer service environment.
+ Proven ability to work successfully under pressure.

$16.00 - 16.00
