What You Will Do


•    Identify and conceptualize primarily robotic and at times other forms of automated solutions to drive improvements in safety, ergonomics, quality, productivity, and cost reductions throughout the Machine Division.
•    Coordinate with vendors to quote and size automated systems. 
•    Manage projects from start to finish including Capital Appropriation Requests with project budgets, savings, ROI, timelines, runoff criteria, status reporting, system implementation, and all other project details.
•    Program robotic systems, provide support and troubleshooting of existing robotic systems.
•    Design customized fixturing and workholding for automated systems using Solid Edge.
•    Create procedures, documentation, routings, and other necessary documentation for the manufacturing process.
•    Collaborate and communicate cross functionally with all levels of the organization including but not limited to pieceworkers, R&D, QA, Supply Management, production departments, and executive management.
•    Serve as the technical expert in robotics.  Mentor and train others in the technical aspects of robotic systems.
•    Other assignments as assigned by the supervisor.
•    Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
 

Education & Experience Requirements


•    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering or related discipline.
•    Minimum 8 years professional and on hands experience with robotic systems.  Robotic welding experience is a plus.
•    Proficient in conceptualizing automated solutions and implementing robotic and automation equipment. 
•    Proficient at higher level programing of Fanuc robots for purposes of auto recovery and other more complex routines.
•    Excellent organizational skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
•    Possess and apply strong problem solving skills with an analytical approach and attention to detail.  Ability to apply continuous improvement methodology to solve real world problems.
•    Ability to handle a variety of assignments and changing priorities.

  • Ensure quality of finished product in accordance with established quality processes and guidelines

The Robotic Technician operates a robotic work cell to produce finished goods. This position is responsible for adhering to established production processes to produce quality work that meets customer specifications and for meeting individual production goals.

This position is on a an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday. Our available shifts are 2nd shift (2p-10p) and 3rd shift (10p-6a). Starting pay rate is $28.61 - top out pay rate is $32.41. Top out rate is generally reached within one year, based on performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for general knowledge of any / all job-related machinery, equipment, and work instructions.
  • Set up of production equipment according to established specifications, adjusting CNC programming as needed
  • Perform minor maintenance on production equipment
  • Calibration and use of measurement and balancing equipment
  • Utilize production equipment to produce finished goods in accordance with production goals
  • Ensure quality of finished product in accordance with established quality processes and guidelines
  • Utilize forklift to move raw materials and finished goods as needed in the production process
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhere to all safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

  • Mechanical skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work all jobs within the department

Experience:

  • 0-1 year in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in an automated, CNC, mechanical or production environment preferred

What Youll Do As A Robotic Welder:
  • Follow safety policies, procedures, rules, and safe work methods, along with making safety suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety
  • Inspect machines and recognize correct operations and condition
  • Set up jigs
  • Adjust weld positions in robot programs as needed
  • Move parts to various areas as required
  • Load parts in jig
  • Operate cranes to move finished parts
  • Check parts for quality welds
  • Record production data and quantities in computer daily
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of common robot issues
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement culture
What You Need To Be A Robotic Welder:
  • Knowledge of power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to properly read and use a tape measure
  • Proven regular and reliable attendance record
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly target goals
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
