Responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of assembly robot and test equipment to assemble quality products in accordance with robot assembly procedures and Bill of Materials List (BOM). Maintains quality of assembled products by performing quality tests according to test specifications. Stocks and maintains assembly cell inventory. Position necessitates a high regard for ISO requirements.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Follows Safety Regulations
Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization – as required.
Participates in safety training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times.
Wears PPE as required by safety regulations.
Performs Set Up and Maintenance Operations
Obtains correct print and test specifications. Completes needed documentation. Stages all needed materials as specified by BOM. Sets up robot assembly cell and test equipment according to procedure. Performs robotic cell part changeover and chooses correct part program from Cell touch screen.
Performs preventive maintenance and trouble shooting, and fixes faults and stoppages on robot assembly cell.
Performs Assembly Operations
Loads and monitors robot assembly cell according to procedure and makes adjustments to the robot as needed. Performs quality checks at each assembly stage per test specifications. Verifies date stamp on each body and stamps them with employee identification code upon successful testing. Boxes or trays assembled regulators per BOM.
Maintains Quality
Performs quality checks at each stage of assembly according to test specifications to assure products are assembled to standard.
Completes Documentation
Completes the following forms/reports as required by department procedures:
- Labor Ticket
- Reject Report
- Regulator Assembly Daily Torque Checks
- Scrap Ticket
- Product Transfer form
- Daily 5S Check Sheet
Supports Department and Company Initiatives
Works on cost saving projects, Six Sigma projects, and provides support for other team members and projects.
Attends team meetings. Utilizes lean tools and techniques such as 5S and visual factory concepts in maintaining order and cleanliness.
Performs additional tasks to support production as needed or directed by supervisor or management.

- Installation & Setup - Configure and install robotic and automated systems according to specifications.

- Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with ability to diagnose and repair complex problems.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, OEM manuals, bills of materials, and SOPs.
- Strong documentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Skilled in the proper use of hand tools, power tools, and computerized building management systems.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and safety devices/functions.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.

Role Overview
As a Robotic Operations Technician , you'll travel to customer construction sites across the U.S. to operate and deploy our autonomous layout robot. Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for industrial tasks, targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe for humans. We are based in San Jose, CA and have operations in Spartanburg, SC. This posting is for a role in Lathrop, CA. We require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
As a Robotic Operations Technician, you'll have the unique opportunity to work directly with our learning humanoid robots and teach them new behaviors and skills, as well as keeping the robot in top shape to meet customer demands.
You will be at the forefront of our operations, deploying the robots for real commercial use cases, identifying issues, and relaying these problems to the right engineering teams. You may also collect new data to train our AI systems and work with the AI team to refine behaviors over time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a humanoid robot
- Conduct on-site integration and test activities
- Be able to explain complex issues and processes to our customer operations team in clear and simple language, using customer service techniques to de-escalate customer concerns and keep customers informed.
- Execute field repairs. Work with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers on troubleshooting field issues
- Use clear written communication to describe issues and bugs seen in the field and suggest potential solutions
- Work with other Operations Technicians and Deployment Engineers to deploy and manage installations at customer sites
- Hands-on experience solving issues with complex electro-mechanical equipment (Robotics experience preferred, but experience in Automotive, Construction, Manufacturing, Aerospace, etc. sectors is acceptable)
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows GUI and CLI
- Basic familiarity with wiring/electronics (Multimeters, O-Scope, etc.)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow step-by-step safety procedures exactly. Lock-Out-Tag-Out for example.
- Willingness to work in hot/cold and uncomfortable conditions (warehouses are often not climate controlled)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and other engineering-produced documentation
- Experience reading debug machine output and logs
- Experience in field services or deployment positions is a plus
- Be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Be able to stand and operate a humanoid robot for up to 8 hours a day
- A passion for helping scale the deployment of learning humanoid robots.
- Spanish language proficiency is extremely valuable
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $35 - $45/hr .
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. **Pay and Benefits**
