Position Summary:
The robotic welding technician will use MIG/TIG welding equipment in accordance with internal and customer specifications, welding stainless and carbon steel. This position is also responsible for supporting the QA team with part layouts and inspection. This position will also assist in the design, development and implementation of production fixturing, and operate and recover welding robots for all phases of production.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up welders, weld and troubleshoot basic GTAW and GMAW mild steel joints, based on knowledge of weld symbols and materials
  • Perform 1st piece table layouts
  • Change and troubleshoot programs to make offsets on work piece to ensure good welds
  • Set up, calibrate, program, maintain and troubleshoot robotic welders, with feedback from CMM reports
  • Package parts for shipping
  • Complete job documentation
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED, vocational training
CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: forklift operator’s license preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 year’s experience welding in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Good understanding of GD&T and blueprints
  • Proficient programming Motoman, Panasonic, and Fanuc robots

The Robotic Welding Programmer is responsible for the development and implementation of all robotic

b) Work closely with Tooling Design on development of new fixtures and continuous improvement of

c) Work with Manufacturing Engineering to track robotic cell metrics and input int excel spreadsheet.
Conduct welding cell cycle time calculations.
d) Make recommendations to design changes that improve robotic welding operations.
e) Identify jobs that are good candidates for robotic solutions.
f) Review, maintain, and improve existing robotic weld programs/fixtures with a focus of reducing
rework, cycle time, and improving quality.
g) Work with Quality Assurance personnel to analyze, document, and implement recommendations
for correction of process failures and quality improvement.
h) Recommend design concepts for individual parts and processes to improve cost and
manufacturability.
i) Provide input for tooling design and identify applications for robotic welding in manufacturing.
j) Perform set-up and preventive maintenance and troubleshoot robotic welding equipment.
k) Apply and optimize use of robotic systems in welding and other manufacturing processes.
l) Participate in the Company's lean initiative & team process to develop and improve manufacturing
processes and procedures. Continually strive to find better ways to complete tasks and be the best
in the industry.
m) Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the manufacturing cell. Maintain work area in a clean
and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety procedures.
Education and/or Experience

a) An Associate's Degree or Technical Diploma in robotic programming, weld robotic programming, or
a related program or a minimum of three years manual/robotic welding operations experience is
preferred.

**Project Manager Accountabilities** :
+ Responsible for overall project Profit and Loss under Welding Manager - will typically manage multiple projects simultaneously while supporting Business Development activities at the same time.

+ Manage client expectations and interface with client personnel, working to build positive, long-lasting relationships with all clients.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in MIG and TIG welding and robotic welding programming
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding blueprints
  • Familiarity with robotic welding equipment (FANUC, ABB, etc.)
  • Experience in metal fabrication preferred
  • Welding certification is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
  • Dependable, collaborative, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

What you’ll do:

The Operator is responsible for operating Robotic Welders, Seam Welder and Tangent Bender in accordance with SOP/VOP to assure a quality product is received by our customers. The Welder needs knowledge of blueprints, drawings, and have the capacity to learn all tank models. Provide prompt and efficient service with emphasis on quality of work. Work from list of catalog numbers and various reports. Use material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, overhead hoist, utilize measurement equipment (Verniers and micrometers) and an assortment of air and common hand tools. Attend Lockout/Tagout and General Electrical Safety Training each year. Work Safely to prevent on-the-job injuries. Report on-the-job injuries and unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor.

  1. You will work in Bottom Weld, Tangent Bender and Cover Weld areas.

  2. You will operate Welding Robot Work Cell - Fanuc Robot ARC Mate model 100i, 100i8L, 100i10L, ArcTool Software, and System R-J2, RJ3 and ARC MATE 100iD Controller.

  3. You will start-up, change over, and shutdown robot weld operations and tangent bender operations.

  4. You will set the proper tank size up in the HMI touch screen panel when changes to tank sizes dictates.

  5. You will obtain internal forklift Certification and Hoist/Crane training.

  6. You will visually inspect welder torch and wire feeder. Clean wire feed at shift start. Review current PPE condition and replace if needed.

  7. You will inspect final product to ensure a quality weld, according to our standards.

  8. You will achieve daily production goals.

  9. You will train new operators when necessary.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• One year of manufacturing experience

• Applicant must have a good foundation in blueprint reading

Preferred Qualifications:

• Robotic welding experience

• Machine operation experience

We are seeking a Robotic Welding Technician and Operator for our Smyrna, Tennessee Plant.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for motivated individuals interested in coming to work on time and working hard. Responsibilities and pay will increase with experience. Self-starter, the ability to work with others, punctuality, a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities would include, but are not limited to the set-up, maintenance, and operation of robotic welding equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication of metallic parts or assemblies through welding by the means of a robotic machine. May also be responsible for programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting welding robots, and implementing robotic welding into production. Additionally, you will:

  • Ability to select and change tools per SOP.

  • Apply principles of basic welding fundamentals, understand AWS symbols and blueprints.

  • Visual inspection of parts to confirm correct weld path

  • Identify and select correct robotic welding parameters, welding procedures, operations, and programs.

  • Create robotic welding programs, modify existing welding programs, and conduct welding cell cycle time calculations.

  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of robotic equipment and welding equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills.

  • Knowledgeable of automation equipment, processes, and systems

  • Interpret blueprints and drawings.

  • Adapt to technology changes quickly and seamlessly.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity in extremities to open and close clamps, grab onto parts and push buttons.

  • Basic computer skills, e-mail, excel and time keeping systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)

  • High school or equivalent (Required) with classes in Robotics and/or Welding at the Junior College level.

  • Certificate in Welding, Metals Fabrication or Machining and/or an associate's degree in Welding or Robotics. (Preferred)

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Hi-Lo Certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Be able to work in a loud, noisy, and congested environment. May be expose to extreme temperatures hot and cold and dusty areas, work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions, proper protective clothing is required to protect against extreme temperature conditions. Smoke from Welding Robot could be present. Eye, Ear and burn protection will be required for this position.

WORKING HOURS: 1st Shift hours 7:00am to 3:30pm or 2nd Shift hours 3:30pm to 12:00am
