The Costumer role takes a costume from page to stage. You will research and facilitate manufacturing new and replacement Entertainment costumes while collaborating with some of the industry's top talent. The Costumer must be able to communicate direction and concepts to multiple levels of Cast Members. This role will require travel onboard, including international to support or global fleet of ships/islands.
The Costumer will report to the Area Manager - Costume Production.
This is a Full-Time role.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to maintain costume quality and design
+ Produce estimates, lead timelines & budgets
+ Work with the Designer to identify fabrics, trims, and all garment accessories factoring in climate, safety, and functionality
+ Coordinate fittings with Entertainment and Workroom personnel
+ Document Costumes and Production processes in various formats for history and analysis
+ Source new vendors for materials and finished goods and attend trade shows to keep up on the cutting edge of costume production
+ Monitor show quality through Cast feedback and periodic assessments. Give directions on how to clean costumes, set up lines, etc.
+ Interface daily with Entertainment Show Producers, Directors, Designers, and Entertainment and Costuming Operations Leaders
**Required Qualifications & Skills:**
+ Minimum one year of experience in Theatre, Film, Live Entertainment, Fashion, or related field
+ Minimum one year of experience working with garment construction and textiles
+ Ability to work in a physically demanding role that requires lifting to 50 lbs. as well as frequent climbing, squatting, and standing for long durations of time
+ Knowledge of project/production management lifecycle
+ Experience developing and maintaining a budget
+ Skilled in costume documentation
+ Previous experience in purchasing apparel-related items
+ Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting
+ Skilled in planning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, influencing, and negotiating (written and verbal communication)
+ Ability to work around all types of fabrics, fibers, and synthetic furs
+ Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time
+ Schedule availability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Previous leadership experience
+ Skilled in using PLM and purchasing software
+ Experience working in a warehouse environment
+ Multilingual
+ Valid Passport or willingness to obtain one
**Education:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Advanced degree in Costuming, Costume Design, Textiles, Theater, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or related field preferred

The Cosmetology Manager will support the Disney Cruise Line. This position leads and mentors hourly Cosmetologists and is the point of contact for contractors who care for the various wigs, facial hair, and prosthetics used in the various Entertainment offerings aboard the ships. Candidates will have a passion for Guest and Cast service putting inclusion to the forefront of everything they do.
The Cosmetology Manager will report to the Area Manager - Cosmetology (IA).
This a Full-Time role.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Lead, guide, and develop a successful team of hourly Cosmetology Specialists through demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring
+ Provide a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with Company, State, and Federal regulations
+ Build and maintain positive relationships with Entertainment and Costuming partners
+ Represent and support business requests in a fast-paced environment
+ Collaborate with Costume Designer, Production Teams, and Buyer to refine project scope as materials are selected and construction methods are refined
+ Track, analyze, and manage inventory levels to meet demand
+ Control expenses to align with annual financial targets
+ Maintain wig show quality, ensuring Disney styling standards for both shoreside and onboard teams
+ Must clearly understand all wigs and makeup used in our various Entertainment offerings
+ Must clearly understand how to set and adjust priorities to satisfy partner needs and maintain show quality
+ Must understand the company guidelines and how it aligns with hair and makeup
+ Ensuring compliance with customs and maritime laws for shipping and manifesting
**Required Qualifications & Skills:**
+ Minimum of one year of experience in a Cosmetology or entertainment related field and leading in a unionized environment
+ Prior experience with wig styling and production
+ Ability to build mutually beneficial partnerships in a collaborative environment
+ Skilled in supervising team workflows and assisting in prioritizing collision points
+ Proficient in managing budgets and reporting financial discrepancies
+ Experience in ordering and remaining in compliance with industry safety standards
+ Skilled in communicating (both verbal and written) with all levels of partners
+ Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
+ Ability to work around various fibers and synthetic furs
+ Valid Passport
+ Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time
+ Schedule availability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays

+ Valid Cosmetology license
+ Previous experience with synthetic wig styling and production
+ Knowledge of Walt Disney World Collective Bargaining agreements

+ Directly manage salaried cast and provide indirect leadership to a team of 9+ professionals; support both salaried and hourly cast across multiple teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment focused on engagement and development.
