**POSITION DESCRIPTION:**
In support of commercial, federal and government contracts, the candidate must possess valid professional credentials in the form of certified industrial hygienist (CIH). This position will report to the VP of Engineering and Consulting.
Requires both field experience and familiarity of an organization's overall safety management system, including authority and responsibility to implement and enforce policies, procedures, and systems that accompany the organization's Injury and Illness Prevention Plan as well as Site-Specific Health & Safety Plans. Experience providing consulting services to the commercial and federal business sectors. Below are additional responsibilities:
+ Serve as an industrial hygiene subject matter expert both internally and client facing
+ Prepares proposals and industrial hygiene sampling plans (SOP)
+ Evaluates complex laboratory and field data collected during the assessment of physical, chemical, biological or environmental stressors and interprets data into valid conclusions in written reports
+ Perform indoor air quality and ventilation assessments
+ Performs environmental investigations for biological, physical, and chemical hazards
+ Provide technical expertise and knowledge with field monitoring equipment for industrial hygiene assessments
+ Write, prepare, and review reports
+ Staying current on industry best practices and regulations/standards as mandated by local, state and federal agencies
+ Attending trainings, meeting and conferences in order to develop professional network, stay current on knowledge and applications of industrial hygiene and maintain professional credentials
+ Create standard report templates(s) (IAQ, WAGS, USP-797, etc.) for IH reports
+ Site environmental safety and health experience should include hazardous and toxic waste management, task-based qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments, mathematical modeling (prospective and retrospective) of inhalation exposures, occupational safety audits, gap analysis, root cause analysis, PPE hazard assessments, activity and process hazard analysis, training (e.g., HAZWOPER) and development and implementation of OSHA-mandated programs and training.
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:**
+ The right candidate must possess the ability to follow instructions well, work independently, prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and be a leader amongst your peers
+ Master or Bachelors Degree in Environmental or Health & Safety
+ Must possess Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification
+ Minimum 5 years of experience
+ Must have a valid Drivers' License and acceptable driving record

Duties:

Requirements:
+ 10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in industrial construction or a related industry.
+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.
+ In-depth knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
+ Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent strongly preferred.
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change.
+ Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Willingness to travel to project sites (up to 50%).
+ Ability to read and understand detailed safety and contract related verbiage.
+ Ability to work in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Power Point and ability to learn new software systems as required.
+ Ability to effectively present on safety related topics in front of groups of employees, clients, and others.
+ Familiarity with construction safety technologies (e.g., wearables, drones, EHS software platforms).
+ Bilingual capabilities (e.g., English/Spanish) are a plus.
Working Conditions:
Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, and working in awkward body positions.

Safety & Industrial Hygiene Interns/Co-ops are critical to ensuring that we maintain high standards for protecting people, the environment, and the communities where we work and live. They support all areas of the business. Opportunities are available for interns/co-ops to receive training in various subject areas including Health, Environment, Safety, Security and Product Quality.
Interns/Co-ops assist company professionals in implementing various health, safety, and security planning and compliance activities pertaining to the protection of human health and safety. Duties may include: facility audits; employee training programs; industrial hygiene; design and implementation of industrial hygiene equipment;  equipment maintenance;  participation in health safety and security projects; incident investigations; emergency preparedness and response; governmental inspections; compliance with government regulations; agency interactions and working as a liaison with other Marathon business units; and other safety and security related projects. Reports will be written and submitted for some projects. 
Qualifications:
+ Desired majors are as follows: Occupational Safety & Health; Safety Management; Public Health; Industrial Hygiene; Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability; Fire Protection & Safety; Other related fields of study.
+ Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience.
+ Strong academic performance.
+ Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
+ Availability to work 40 hours per week.
+ Positions are available Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.
+ Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
+ A valid driver's license is required (travel may be involved with some positions).
+ Must be able to safely ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs and/or ladders, and lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
+ Military experience a plus.
+ MIN - $23.65 per hour / MAX - $5.96 per hour
