The Environmental, Safety, Health & Medical team is looking for a **Sr** . **Principal Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer** for our **Iuka, MS** site. The role includes the following activities:
+ Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and takes preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances, removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
+ Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.
+ Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation. Investigates, prepares, and forwards as required reports on injuries and incidents.
+ Supports continual improvement initiatives and goals as part of the ISO14001 and ISO45001 Environmental, Health and Safety Management systems.
+ Conduct internal audits, prepare sites for external audits, and support sites during external audits.
+ Maintain and track EHS training requirements for NGC personnel.
+ Oversight and manage on site medical clinic
+ Leads a Site Safety Committee with lab/production employees. Conducts monthly meetings with monthly safety topics. Develops and administers safety awareness training - based on monthly topics
**Basic Qualifications:**
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
+ Bachelor's degree and 8 years of occupational health and safety or related experience OR 6 years of occupational health and safety or related experience with a Master's degree
+ Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
+ Self-motivated and assertive
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team
+ Ability to obtain/maintain DoD clearance
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with Industrial Hygiene sampling
+ Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
+ Experience working with EHS management systems
+ Proficiency in MS SharePoint
+ Experience leading EHS training activities
+ Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements
Salary Range: $102,200.00 - $153,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
