Your Opportunity
We have an immediate need for an on-call health and safety professional. The location for this position is Northern California, preferably in the Sacramento Metro or Fresno area. The successful candidate will perform safety observations and support project teams that assist Stantec's clients to meet safety regulatory requirements and maintain effective management systems.

- Daily communication with field staff and documentation of client and Stantec-specific safety requirements

**Responsibilities**

The work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
**The Physical Side of the Role:** This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You'll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. SUMMARY:

This position will be a part of the MPLX and G&P Safety Team. This role will be responsible for safety oversight on multiple oil and gas gathering pipeline segments along with any construction or maintenance activities tied to these assets. This position is responsible for leading and/or assisting with development and implementation of safety programs and processes. This includes organizing or participating on standard development teams, developing training for new programs, facilitating implementation of new standards, verifying and coaching on effective implementation in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical support of routine operations, project work, major maintenance or construction support, and emergency response to ensure worker safety throughout the planning and execution phases of work.

  • Supports development, maintenance, and execution of safety programs for implementation in the field to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and conformance to MPC corporate standards.

  • Conducts auditing on safety programs to verify compliance and conformance with regulatory and MPC standards. This includes analyzing safety performance data to identify and report trends, along with proposing recommendations to address areas of concern.

  • Leads and supports investigations for near-misses, incidents, and injuries to identify root causes and recommendations to prevent future incidents. Tracks recommendations to implementation to ensure completion.

  • Develops and presents training material related to a variety of safety topics in collaboration with Operations and Learning Development departments.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for assigned programs, which may include providing input as a competent person for fall protection and excavation safety, support during Life Critical work and input on other regulatory programs.

SUMMARY:

This position will be a part of the MPLX and G&P Safety Team. This role will be responsible for safety oversight on multiple oil and gas gathering pipeline segments along with any construction or maintenance activities tied to these assets. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical support of routine operations, project work, major maintenance or construction support, and emergency response to ensure worker safety throughout the planning and execution phases of work.

  • Supports development, maintenance, and execution of safety programs for implementation in the field to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and conformance to MPC corporate standards.

  • Conducts auditing on safety programs to verify compliance and conformance with regulatory and MPC standards. This includes analyzing safety performance data to identify and report trends, along with proposing recommendations to address areas of concern.

  • Leads and supports investigations for near-misses, incidents, and injuries to identify root causes and recommendations to prevent future incidents. Tracks recommendations to implementation to ensure completion.

  • Develops and presents training material related to a variety of safety topics in collaboration with Operations and Learning Development departments.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for assigned programs, which may include providing input as a competent person for fall protection and excavation safety, support during Life Critical work and input on other regulatory programs.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.

  • Travel Requirement is 5% or less.
