Position Summary

The Safety & Compliance Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the organization adheres to regulatory, safety, and operational standards. This individual will manage administrative duties related to compliance, schedule and oversee inspections, develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), coordinate safety committees, and work proactively to ensure the safety and security of the organization's facilities.

Primary Responsibilities

Building Safety

• Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
• Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and inspection of safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency exits).
• Lead efforts to implement and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation drills and incident reporting procedures.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Draft, update, and distribute SOPs to ensure consistency in operational practices across departments.
• Collaborate with department leads to ensure SOPs are practical, clear, and align with regulatory requirements.
• Train staff on new or revised SOPs.

Inspections and Audits

• Schedule, coordinate, and oversee routine and non-routine inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with third-party inspectors and internal teams to address and resolve inspection findings.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, ADA, and fire safety codes.

Safety Committee Coordination

• Serve as the primary coordinator for the organization's health & safety committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting meeting minutes.
• Monitor and track safety committee action items and ensure timely resolution.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance-related activities, inspections, certifications, and training documentation.
• Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

**Our Team is Kind of a Big Deal!**
UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking a reliable and hardworking Safety Compliance Specialist to join our family. As a Team Partner in the Safety Training Department, you will be facilitating various CPR/First Aid & OSHA Safety classes to our client's locations. When working with UniFirst First Aid + Safety we provide a variety of shifts. Our standard is a 5-day work week, enjoy two days off a week. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.
**Pay & Benefits:** On the job training & great hourly pay + 401K with Company Match, Profit Sharing, Health Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Direct Payroll Deposit, Tuition Reimbursement, 30% Employee Discount, Employee Referral Bonuses.
Compensation:from $55,000 annual salary, dependent on experience and skills plus a base commission structure plan!

**What you'll be doing:**
+ Provide various Safety Training classes to customers including, but not limited to; CPR/First Aid, Forklift Safety, Fire Extinguisher Safety.
+ Drive company provided vehicle to and from customer locations daily.
+ Contact customers by phone and email to schedule training.
+ Contact customers and prospects by phone and email to sell Safety Training services and products.
+ Clean and maintain all equipment including van and training equipment.
+ Complete required reporting.
+ Use iPad or other electronic devices to bill customers and complete training details.
+ Meet with the training center manager to discuss goals, objectives, and outcomes.
+ Work with internal resources to increase Safety Training base.
+ Complete ongoing continuing education to increase Safety Training offerings and knowledge.
+ Order supplies as needed.
+ Provide ongoing support of customers to maintain OSHA compliance.
**Qualifications**
**What we're looking for:**
+ High school and/or GED equivalent is required.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
+ Valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.
+ Minimum of 2 years as a Safety Instructor providing CPR/First Aid, Forklift, Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, Fire Safety and other common OSHA classes is highly preferred.
+ Current AHA certification to be an instructor in CPR/AED/First Aid and BLS. Credentialing as required by state law for course to be taught or administered is preferred.
+ Experienced in sales and upselling additional safety-related products and services is preferred.
+ Ability to communicate course material in a clear and understandable manner.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Ability to teach effectively in an adult learning environment.
+ Ability to travel within the designated territory.
+ Excellent communication skills for internal and external scheduling.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs at certain times.
