+ **Referral Management:** Oversee referral intake and ensure timely assessment visits for patients.
+ **Physician Communication:** Contact physicians for service orders and manage documentation reviews.
+ **Patient Visits:** May perform patient visits as requested by management.

    The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.     + Assists with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. Assists with use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs. Transfers patients to and from other units, departments, or entities. Assists with discharges. Demonstrates proper body mechanics.
    + Obtains or assists in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests. Ensures accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.
    + Assists patients with activities of daily living to include eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination. Changes bed linens as needed.
    + Serves as Monitor/Telemetry Tech for the unit as needed.
    + Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for opening sterile supplies, assisting with patient positioning, coordinating and assisting with the set up and cleanup of the operating rooms as well as assisting team members in the delivery of patients to and from the operating room.

  • Reviews the OR schedule daily, tracking and monitoring the necessary pick-up and delivery of patients to and from the operating rooms as needed to ensure timely surgical starts2. Opens and assists the team with supplies, instrument sets, suture selection and meeting benchmark turnovers3. Assists the surgical suite in patient positioning, surgical preps, clipping and aids in the retrieving of x-rays, equipment set up and tracking and removing instruments to and from the operating room suites4. Rounds within their assigned surgical rooms to ensure that all turnovers are met and Supports the necessary patient movement and flow5. Assists Registered Nurses, Surgical Scrubs and the Surgeons while preventing the disruption of the surgical case by retrieving supplies, relaying messages and managing the ancillary support of the surgical team6. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team members and provides the necessary support and knowledge of surgical supplies, instruments and sutures7. Sets up and tears down laparoscopic equipment, ensuring that printers, cameras and tubing is properly processed and arranged8. Ensures that used surgical instruments are cleaned, replaced and properly returned to the decontamination department within SPD9. Assists in the pre-operative patient preparation once the patient has arrived in the operating room/includes placing grounding pad on patient and ensuring that the device is properly connected10. Obtains the necessary skin preparation solutions and prepares the prep stand as needed
