JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will report into the Finance Manager and will maintain and distribute existing reporting and analysis related to financial and operational metrics. The
primary responsibilities include:
- Assist with month end close, including journal entries, reconciliations and research and analysis that happens during the close.
- Maintain ownership of Iconixx (producer compensation software), review producer compensation calculations and respond to producer inquiries
- Retrieves and organizes data into required reporting formats Improve upon existing reporting as requested by management, which include working with systems such as Oracle Financial, Hyperion, Excel (Smartview), etc.
- Research, identify and communicate key variances relating to financial and operational metrics
- Provide ad-hoc financial and operational analysis to support business decisions
- Participate in annual budget process and monthly forecasting processes
- Provide support within the Finance department as needed
Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelors degree in Accounting & Finance or 5 years of equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Oracle and Hyperion is a plus
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Insurance Broker/Insurance Industry is a plus
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment

The Financial Accounting Specialist serves SFI by ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable functions including but not limited to reviewing and confirming the accuracy of accounts payable requests, contract payments, and expense reimbursements, ensuring vendors and team members are paid on time, tracking various billing activity, accurate 1099 tax reporting, performing various reconciliations, and providing support to SFI team members and vendors questions following SFI's policies and procedures. Additionally, the position may assist in providing accounting to various SFI related entities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Financial Accounting Specialist is responsible for the following functions:
- Confirm legitimacy of incoming invoices, contract payments and reimbursement requests by contacting appropriate personnel and ensuring payments are made in a timely manner.
- Assist in performing various accounting functions as needed such as match purchase order receipts to invoices, account reconciliations, troubleshoot inventory problems, review prepaid expenses, prepare tax exempt forms, monitor gas cards, create and maintain spreadsheets, and assist with audits, production records or accounts receivable.
- Ensure accurate data entry and allocation of expenses to appropriate cost centers.
- Assist in other administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all SFI information.
- Be a team player to demonstrate teamwork with all team members.
- Adhere to SFI's policies and procedures.
- Maintain strong internal relationships by providing a consistent level of service which is timely, thorough and responsive.
- Work under deadlines, resolving and correcting errors, and maintaining excellent communication with vendors and team members.
- Responds to and accurately resolves routine issues and questions in a timely manner.
- Ensure privacy policies and procedures established by SFI regarding protected health information are implemented and maintained.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE (or equivalent):
- Degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 2 years of related accounting experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and/or financial principles.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, client service and team skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.), and other related accounting and/or report writing software applications.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Finance Team with accounting and financial reporting tasks for the management company and its subsidiaries.
- Maintain full responsibility for recording cash transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable across a multi-entity structure using Sage Intacct.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry to support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings. Manage budgets on both a cash and accrual basis.
- Track, invoice, and collect all intercompany charges between the management company and affiliated funds. Utilize Sage Intacct to streamline and automate intercompany processes.
- Oversee the complex accounts payable review and approval workflow, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and report on investments in securities and real estate assets. Prepare and distribute comprehensive monthly investment reports.
- Assist with special projects and drive process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency within the finance function.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance teams to drive departmental objectives and support strategic financial initiatives.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting required; minimum of 3+ years of relevant full-time professional experience. CPA designation preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in private fund accounting is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Sage Intacct is required.
